I've come across self-centred fans before at shows and gigs "I've paid a lot of money and ....." Well yes love but so have the rest of the audience so remember you aren't thirteen anymore so sit down and give yourself a talking to and stop trying to ruin the evening for everyone else.

OP - I think that's another non-serious post just aimed at trying to provoke you. I mean anyone with any intelligence can tell that you were only trying to prevent the whole evening being ruined for yourself & others, as opposed to "trying to ruin the evening for everyone else", even if that did prove to be an inadvertent side-effect. Besides, you certainly didn't ruin the evening for everyone else because you got a lot of support for your action, and the worst that could be said is that you spoilt 2 minutes of the evening for SOME of the audience.

If I'd have been in the audience, you would have got my support, especially as you'd first tried the proper route. Even if it did spoil 2 minutes of my evening (which it wouldn't have), I would have considered it a small price to pay to prevent the WHOLE of the evening being ruined for others. Any frustration would have been directed more at the manager's ineffectiveness which resulted in you feeling that you had to take such extreme action.

Disrespectful to the band and to the rest of the audience.

You obviously thought you were some kind of hero but it appears no everyone sees it the way you do.

I wish they would announce when they are giving a prize to the most idiotic and sanctimonious post.

Althouh I seriously doubt anyone can beat the one quoted. rolleyes.gif

I nearly posted last night to be careful duchy :p I don't know what it is about this thread, but dare state your opinion that you think the OP was in the wrong and you get jumped on and called a troll! Now the same more or less has happened to you just because you dared have a different opinion to the majority....unbelievable! :(

It isn't just because she's dared to voice an opinion.

It's the totally barmy assertion that someone is being 'self centred' simply because she wants to see what she's paid for.

What duchy is effectively saying is that it's perfectly all right for others to ruin the OP's night and yet when she tries to do something about this she's being self centred, acting like a thirteen year old, and needs a talking to.

What I find unbelievable is that you can ignore that sanctimonious, patronizing, rubbish and moan about others having the temerity to disagree and yet the whole point of your post was seems to be complaining about people not being allowed to disagree!

TBH, Duchey was being very patronizing and it did sound like a wind-up. People can disagree about how the OP handled the situation but calling her names just because she wanted to see what she'd probably spent a lot of time and money to get to see is a bit OTT.

Personally I don't find it sanctimonious, patronising etc, but like I say, that's just my personal opinion, you obviously think otherwise. What I have the problem with now is people jumping on other people calling them trolls....I mean come on, look at how many posts duchy, takeaway addict and myself have, if we were going to troll we'd have done it by now or opened up a new account.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion, people will either agree or disagree, but to be called a troll by someone (not aimed at you btw) who is obviously looking to stir things up is well, like I said....unbelievable!

Eta: just wanted to state my piece, not get into an argument. :)

Does this mean I can complain when a tall person sits in front of me as that's wrecking the show?
