There's no mention of DD's being required (nor even SOs), nor any mention of a number, in the switching offer T&Cs. So, you could even just switch a couple of bill payments and still get the incentive (by my reading of the T&Cs).
Where does it say "active DD" in the switching offer T&Cs? Or are you mixing this up with the £5 Reward T&Cs?
Perhaps you could read the T&Cs and/or clarify your question(s)?0 -
I wanted to know if people had done it with dead DD's and got the £100 as the t&c obviously doesn't differentiate between the 2 types.0

If there's a DDI on your donor account (the one you're switching from) then it's an active, ie not dormant, DD.
It matters not, for the purpose of this switching offer, what the frequency is...merely that it exists.as the t&c obviously doesn't differentiate between the 2 types0 -
It says debits and credits, but if you transfer with none but just pay in money yourself this will be fine?0

If it wasn't for the criterion of closing your old account I would do this straight away. Unfortunately, I only have 2 accounts with direct debits and one of those is a 4% Vantage and the other is a FlexAccount I need for my Flexclusive ISA.
Both the Halifax website and posts on this forum are far from clear as to what is required. Could be that manually transferring money in and out each month is fine, or it could be that I need 2 DDs and my salary going in.0 -
I had an appointment in-branch today for this offer. I have an existing reward account. My account to close has one DD on it (that I set up a few weeks ago). Halifax will switch the DD and ask the old bank to close my account. The guy at the bank mentioned that my old bank will probably write to me so I can confirm that I want to close it. They think the DD will be sorted within 7 working days. The £100 appeared in my account about three hours later. Easy peasy, really. :j0

I did ask a few times and was told that there only had to be one to switch as an existing customer.0

Maybe that's where the confusion lies then - you need 2 DD set up for the £5 reward each month but you only need to transfer 1 DD over from the old account?0
