Neighbour being a pain and stirring

That might be difficult, I would be surprised if any landlord would give permission for 7 animals in their flat.
I have rented in the past with fewer cats. (4) and giant breed dogs. (And other animals) .
It's not easy. It's a responsibility of pet ownership to do the best you can to provide security of tenure for your animals really, IMO....for me I would feel deeply uncomfortable renting contrary to my tenancy agreement on that basis.
A lateral thinking situation might resolve all getting ready's housing/neighbour /animal related issues.
She obviously cannot 'dump' her excess cats (though I think she is Very lucky it is causing no problems so many in a small environment, so congratulations to her in that respect because something is right if she genuinely has no issues with stress in the group or even feeding them all appropriately (its much easier to give the leaner ones extra yummy rations in a roomy situation to top up rations suitable for better doers).
I'm no longer a regular on the pet board, and personally, there is a lot of things peoe do with their pets I wouldn't , and often I make compromises with my own pets too ...ideal is not always possible.
However, I would not be able to relax breaking the tenancy agreement, and I would feel
Uncomfortable with overcrowding. There are solutions, and I have proposed one. Easy no, but not impossible. It's like
T it would take a long time to find. I don't dispute that. And yes, I personally would not put my self or my animals in that much of a vulnerable position of seeking rental in London. But it's where she finds herself, and its an option to explore.0 -
If she has been a pain in the past the council will be well aware of it and may well have a log of her 'issues' and others complaints about her.
Give her a bottle of wine and hope she passes out the silly moo, and most certainly say she is clearly seeing double.
On a serious note though, log every time she bashes on your door (but say nothing for now) , and note every conversation she has with you. If she is plastered all the time if someone comes out to see her if she makes it official she will likely be off her head and they will dismiss it. Are there security cameras to record how often she's at your door?
If she's that drunk most of the time there is a huge probability she won't remember lots of it, which although annoying for you, could also be a bonus.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
Thanks - moving out is not on option as private rent is about 3 times more than what I pay now and I simply could not afford it.
Going to have a chat with my HO and see what we can do about the cats. He has always been great with me and is aware of this woman's issues with all previous tenants at my address.
As I have mentioned before , I have honestly not even seen her in months, not at all.
She is not banging on my door for a while now and I like to keep it this way as it was absolutely driving me up the wall.
I leave home around 7am, come back around 7pm and really have no time for this as got my fury family to look after.
The cats do not "go up and down several times per day".
I take them down once when I get back from work and then bring them up when it gets dark.
Zara is always on a lead when going out for a walk with me or a dog walker.
She is off the lead if I am taking her with me to communal garden to put washing up or take rubbish out but so are other dogs dogs living here. And I always make sure THAT woman is not on the stairs at the time we go out/come back - as I said, never seen her at all for months.
Thanks a lot xx0 -

Ignore her and let it all go over your head. Either that or speak to a councillor if its troubling you that much.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -
You say your 6 cats/dog don't smell, but can I ask you where they defecate and relieve themselves?0

If you haven't seen her in months how can she be a pain?
Another issue, as a pet owner it really isn't suitable to have that many animals in a flat, as you work from 7am - 7pm I assume as a responsible pet owner you ensure someone takes them out during the day instead of leaving them at home bored out of their mind. As a fellow pet owner I'm well aware that that many animals would lead a home to smell especially if they are being left alone for such long periods in which case they will be going to the toilet in the flat.
While dogs are different as responsible owners clean up their poo, unfortunately most cat owners don't and I would be very unhappy if someone allowed their six cats to defecate all over communal gardens.0 -

I said I have permission for the dog and for one cat. I have 4 my own cats (yes that is more than one) and the 2 extra came with my daughter when she moved back home recently.
My cats or my dog are not a nuisance to anyone ever - all my neighbours like Zara and she always gets cuddles when she is out.
What I am saying is that this woman is making up stories about various non existing issues.
This is what I have a problem with.
Yes, she is a council tenant and so am I - only 2 of us are here in the 6 flats.
6 cats which you let roam in the communal area and one dog and you think your animals are not a problem to anyone?
You must spend all your time picking up poo.0 -
Oh dear....
I take the dog out for 1-1.5 hour before work and clean litter trays.
Dog walker take the dog out midday for an hour AND cleans cat litter trays.
Cats only ever pee/poo indoors - I let them out in the garden for perhaps 2-3 hours in the evening each day and as soon as they come back, they go into their trays.
Only 3 of them go out every day> Fred will go out maybe twice per week and the girls do not go out at all.
And I clean the litter trays.
In fact I clean litter trays 4-5 times per day every day AND use very good quality litter.
When they are out (cats) - neighbours kids play with them and even call them indoors surprise surprise.
No, none of my other neighbours has a problem with my animals, quite the opposite - they all like both Zara and all the cats.
Anything else?0 -
wait until she is drunk then push her down the stairs, everyone's problems solvedI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
If you haven't seen her in months how can she be a pain?
Excellent point. You haven't seen her, everyone else avoids her (except the non-English speakers). Who exactly is she telling these false stories to? All you've actually told us about her is that she is an alcoholic, which you have no sympathy for, everyone ignores her and she has left you a slightly unpleasant note. You can't really blame people for not getting what the problem is, as far as you are concerned.0
