    No idea to be honest.

Just felt really upset about those news accusations from her side and posted without thinking - assuming people would understand that I post about the woman simply lying/making up stories that are simply not true.

    As I said, never mind.

can you talk to the other flats and see if they would, if necessary put something in writing that your pets are not a nuisance, you've not let Zara run riot of the lead, and that the cats aren't a bother. 5 letters saying the opposite to the woman would prove she's a trouble maker.
Cats don't have owners - they have staff!! :D:p

Went in the garden after that "talk with her" - some neighbours were sitting there and when I told them what happened they were upset for me but surprised about her as they all avoid her at all cost.

Zara was with me, kids were playing with her, people were giving her cuddles - they all know Zara is not aggressive with people and they know I would never have put anyone in a situation the woman has described.

Yes, of course they would back me up but that does not mean this evil woman from upstairs did not upset me and this was her only reason to make up what she did.

What did you want people to say?

    Exactly.

I see it in two ways. You keep her sweet, since you could end up in trouble and losing your home/pets. You're not willing to do this.

Or you report her, and be prepared to face any comeback on you. Try to cover yourself, e.g. getting permission for the extra cats if possible. She may get evicted, but so may you.

Otherwise, don't do anything. Carry on as you are, and hope she does the same, and nothing comes of it other than a bit of worry.

Oh, there is another dog here on the same floor as she is, that dog is NEVER on a lead anywhere at all but she would never complain about that dog as those people pretend to listen to her when they meet her. Possibly because they do not speak English but them pretending to listen and nod their heads is enough attention for her.

I can not possibly "keep her sweet" - as (I repeat again), I am not prepared to have her banging on my door day/night asking for fags/drink/money and that is what she was doing before I started avoiding her all together.

She has been reported by all people living in my flat before me as well as other people on the estate (music on full at 3 am etc etc) and nothing was ever done, people got fed up and moved.

I doubt she is going to call the council and complain to them as I could knock those complains flat out with the help of other neighbours. And her purpose is to upset me and calling the council she would not get a satisfaction as pushing letters though my letter box to cause me to go up and see her.

I guess the only thing I can do is ignore anything she ever writes again (yes, she writes to me and pushes her notes through my letter box - knowing I will come up to explain things and she gets the "attention")

You are the one asking for advice. The more you attack people on here you try to give you advice, the less people will be willing to respond to your questions. I already hesitate to do so because it's the same defensive replies, and it gets old spending time suggesting possible solutions with an ungrateful response.

No, our solutions won't always be the best (but just because you don't want to do something, doesn't mean it's not a potential solution to your problem), but don't criticise people for trying to suggest something when they can't possibly know everything you've tried in the past or how this woman will react. If the advice given is no good, then just don't follow it, no need to get sarcastic or defensive about it.

I am asking for advice about false accusations and making up stories - I do not believe anyone addressed that in their posts but everyone jumped on my for having "more animals than I should"

Two wrongs don't make a right. You're breaking the rules so you're no better than she is.

Did you have permission to sublet too?

She isn't sub letting, she has a non dependant living with her. There isn't a lot you can do about the accusations as they are vague, but you are in breach of your tenancy agreement. I would ignore her, personally, she may well write ranting letters to the council already. We had a few tenants who would rant about everything and obviously had mental health issues.

I don't know what I would do in your situation if it came out about your pets as you are in breach of tenancy agreement and I think the RSPCA would say that you have too many pets in a one ? bedroomed flat . I would just keep my head down and ignore her.

You're posting in the pet forum, you're going to get pet owners responding about the pet aspect if things. Perhaps your thread would be better in another section.

You have been given some advice on what to do about the situation. Some people may have mentioned that you have more animals than you're allowed - but that is relevant. You get reported for these false accusations, and she may well mention the amount of animals you have too, or the council may come around and see for themselves. Just because you don't like it being pointed out, doesn't make it irrelevant.
