thought I'd better wander back here after not being here for a few days......
Been absolutely manic the last week or so and I have kind of lost track of everything...... Including money! Somehow (and I genuinely don't know how:confused: ) I have managed to get £333 onto my credit card      so I am not happy about that - further investigation needed, but I think it is just from where we buy things on the CC for the cash back, but somehow don't balance that with putting the money aside to pay it..... and now we are £300 adrift! £95 of it was for a new pushchair for DS for his birthday, of which I have £25 back, and *hopefully* some more to come (the plan was I bought it and MiL, SiL and MiL's sister gave money towards it - so far I have only got money from one). It's not a major problem, because I have the OC money, but I am  because I was gonna use that towards paying off the loan early! Will just have to get eBaying again.
Have got loads of things to post tomorrow that I didn't get a chance to post today, so will do that at lunchtime...
DS's first birthday today, has been very tiring for all involved! Little party at MiL's with family coming in and out all day, then round to my Dads afterwards.... DS got a few toys (including one from a lovely lady here!) and lots of lovely clothes (ALWAYS appreciated)... plus £50 in cash and a £20 cheque! That boy has more savings than me now! They will also be paid in tomorrow lunchtime, then switched to his high interest account.
Got a cheque for £1.23 from A&L today, after I closed down my acc..... only wanted it for the £50 cash back! Also applied for a new CC to transfer the rest of OH's CC balance.... I know I said I wouldn't but its 4.9% for 60 months for 2.5% fee...... I was accepted straight away with a limit of £4k! It was with my bank tho, but the deal was good and it'll save us money in the long run. I might tell OH, he can't spend on his Egg anyway, as it is in four pieces, each of which is currently depositted in a different place across the county!:rotfl:Will redo the snowball to see where we are at in a mo....
Need to find some clothes to wear to the wedding next weekend...... that could be fun! Also got to find OH a cheap birthday present..... might see what they have in Boots as I have £40+ in points....

    Think thats it for now........

  • Bit of a confusion moment..... I re-did the snowball and wondered why the DFD hadn't changed.... still haven't figured that out, but also realised that the purchases OH had made were at 0%..... but the £400 worth of cash advances are at 29.9%..... so the snowball wasn't right in the first place, as the payments would be going towards the 0% before the 30%..... so now I feel better about the snowball staying the same.... just hope the new card comes thru before the next statement is due on the 2nd....

Thanks Bun, I confuse myself most days too :rotfl:

  • All my eBay stuff finished and most sold... not too unhappy to keep the bits that didn't, but might try them again next cheap listing days..... Just transferred the £84.40 from Paypal, but spent £21 on postage today, and another 6 items need to be packed and posted tomorrow.... so should end up with about £55 profit all told, so not too bad..... and I still have a nice box full to list.... plus DS has grown out of a couple of sleeping bags, so they can go on too...
Apart from that, not much to tell. We are brassic until payday, then the day after we have a family wedding to go to.... I have to find something to wear to that, with £4.49 left in my clothing budget  That could be fun!?! No doubt OH will be trying to dlash the cash to impress everyone too

OH has also decided we are going on a healthy eating drive..... lots of chicken and salads.... should reduce the shopping bill some what, but can't see it lasting for long! Apart from bread, milk and F&V, I intend to make the store cupboard last for a while yet.....

  • Great news on the ebay :D Could you use some of that to up your clothes budget just this once for the wedding do?

  • I think I will have to! Although I had a look round some of the cheaper shops at lunchtime, and I think I could get a nice outfit pretty cheap...

    Love ur hair BTW

  • Gotta get off here soon and pack my eBay stuff for posting in the morning..... Also keep trying to get onto a certain website to order OH a couple of things for his birthday, but every time I try to check out, the site just says 'IE cannot display this page' Bl00dy thing! Will have to try again in the morning...

Money wise, I got in this evening and OH said to me... I watched your mate on the tv this morning (meaning Martin of course, OH watched IPTW again!) and why aren't we doing the child care vouchers thing? It will save us money

I tell you I nearly fell flat on the floor!!! When I composed myself, I told him that my pack had already arrived and that I just needed him to phone on Monday to get his pack..... Someone has abducted my OH and brainwashed him....... oh no, that'll be me!:D

On a bad note, MiL has sprung it on us that we are going out for dinner on Mothers Day..... which is the day after the wedding that is already going to cost us a fortune! Needless to say, neither OH or I are especially happy as a) we are skint, b) it is OH's birthday the same day, and it has been completely glossed over, and c) I would like to see my Mum and Step-Mum too.... I may have to get OH to plead poverty.... won't do his pride any good, but right now we can't afford pride! So we shall see what happens with that! Plus I have another issue, but I won't get into that now in case people are watching!
