eek at your big spend. Dont beat yourself up over it too much though, think how many people you know spend twice that amount every week. I guess the trick is to make it last - ration it out. Is there any way you can free up some cash to pay the same amount off your CC. Can you cut your card up to stop yourself using it again? It just goes to show how hard this DFW malarkey is.
As for Oxford - have you looked into using the park and ride as I gather thats good value (not sure how much it is these days). I have to admit I hate public transport and always drive but try to park a way out and walk in.0 -

I've not got any free cash as such, but I will divert any money I can make on eBay to paying off I think! I do have my Olympic Challenge money that I could use, but its also 0% on purchases till the end of March, so I might just do some cut backs and make sure its paid off by then.
It is hard, its even harder when u've paid off ur CC's because u think 'oh its onlly £xxx, I'll have it paid off in no time!'. I'm one of these people that likes to keep a CC for 'emergencies' and normally I'm pretty good with it, I think I just had a 'sod it' day today....

I have to admit I hate public transport and always drive but try to park a way out and walk in. I actually quite like public transport..... just checked and the train looks like its moe expensive than the parking will be, so just got to check the park and ride out when I go in.... if its too expensive, I'll just drive all the way in.
Thanks Sassamac, I know its not a lot, but its money that a) we can't really afford this month and b) could have been used on something better!
I'm so determined to be debt free (me and OH, seperately) by the end of the year, that even this little set back winds me up! I will fix it tho!

Done my good deed for the day...... and my bad deed...... spent nearly £45 in Oxford today that I defo can't afford!!!! And I didn't even post my eBay things!!! But to be fair, there appeared to be a 45 min wait in the post office and there were twp drunk/high people in the queue in front of me..... will do that tomorrow when taking stuff to the charity shop.'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0

Right, just opened another Icesave account for all my monthly saves (car ins/birthdays/hols etc) so I can have the money all in one acc instead of 4 with ING (plus their interest rate is better than ING!) I have a good spreadsheet that I use to track the balances of each 'pot' so I don't think four accounts are needed.... once the money has cleared through, I will give them a call and close all the accounts..... I have also justrealised that two of the accounts are in joint names with my ex-H:eek: Will have to check to see if he needs to phone up too to get it closed - hope not, as haven't spoken to him in nearly 3 years!!!
Have got a huge list of jobs to do today, so shouldn't really be spending lots of time here... buts its so damned addictive! Will find my list and post it in a mo.....
OH's Sky payment cleared ok today, I transferred the money into his account last night and he was under strict instructions not to touch it -- so he left his wallet at home! Good man!'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0 -
woo hoo sarah this saving things going really well isnt it :j well done you... I must say though it was icesave that lost my £900  fingers crossed you get no problems. On the savings board they sing their praises so it should be ok. What a bummer about your ex oh? I hope you dont have to get his consent to close the accounts that would be terrible. As for sitting on here... yes i can agree i was 'catching up' ~ that was 1 1/2 hours ago  right now i must get one and list some stuff :rotfl:0

Me too! I have loads of eBay pics to take.... how do u find turbolister btw? I still haven't used it yet!
The saving I'm doing is purely for budgetted things, so I don't have to ge myself into more debt when the MOT is due etc... I have had an Icesave acc since they first came out (that was my debt savings acc) and have always found them very good.... did u get ur £900 back!?!'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0 -
