Just logged on to check my emails (and DFW one more time!) and all my Amazon listings have reached their 60 days, so I have to sit thru and list them all again... Def a job for tomorrow when DS is sleeping!

He he he... finally figured out what an avatar was last night, managed to get a pic of DS to do what it was supposed to, ticked on box, and suddenly everyone has little pics next to their names! The wonders of modern technology!

    Hi Sarah,

You have made some great strides and your little boy looks darling.

My first thought when I looked at your SOA without being rude is that £40 a week on drinking out is eating £160 out of your monthly budget. Is it really neccessary? Apologies if that comes across funny especially when you say hubby has cut down and stopped smoking too. :o Just an observation.

No worries, any comments/observations are welcome! The SOA is from my LBM, and has changed quite a lot since then. Poor OH works so much he hardly ever goes out now!
The only reason I have posted a new one is that OH has just been given a pay rise, and I'm looking into nurseries, so income/outgoings will change. Once it's settled, I'll do a new one....

I also realised yuesterday that I have no background information about myself/family, so I'll put that later when DS is sleeping...

Not a lot going on at all today, failed to list the ietms on eBay that I promised in my confessional:o . Put 37p into the OD pot, and resurected the £2 pot after OH *borrowed* it a couple of weeks ago - only £8 but that's not the point, it was the baby's £8!!! Needless to say that pot is well and truly hidden along with the OD fund. Much as I love OH, he can't be trusted when there's cash lying around.... actually he can't be trusted with cash period, he just HAS to spend!

I realised yesterday that I don't have any background on my circumstances, so I thought I'd put a little bit in....

Apr 2005 I got married to a lovely man, 12 yrs older than me (I am 27), who had no debt, no mortgage and a huge disposable income. We got a joint account, and with nearly £4k going into the account every month, I learned how to shop! We'd been togethre for 3 years and were also trying for children, but to avail (PCOS/infertility).
For reasons that are not important, the marriage didn't work, and we ended it amicably and went our seperate ways, divorcing not long after out 1st wedding anniversary.
During this time I met OH (his name is Dan, he's 28) and fell head over heels in love. After a few months of :kisses2: etc, I found out I was pregnant - silly me, I thought being told I was infertile was contraception enough!:o
As we were both living with our parents at the time, we had to get a house together ( I also have another 'son' in the form of a 6yr old black Labarador). And this is where the debts came from. After initially looking at a mortgage, it turns out OH has lots of defaults from his 'younger, irresponsible days'. As I had a good credit history, we decided it would be sensible to make F&F offers, and put it on my credit card:o Seemed like a good idea at the time!
Then there was the deposit for the house (£1875), and buying a car (£2k)(ex-H worked in car industry, so we both had company cars thru his job. No husband = no company car!)... so we consolidated, and became the owners of a £5k loan from my bank. BUT in true pre-LBM fashion, I didn't dispose of the credit cards, and they got used again to the tune of £3600:mad: . And all of this between Aug 06 when we found out about DS and Jan 07 when I found out about DFW - thanks Martin x. DS was born on 20th Feb, 9 days late, and 9lb 3.5oz.

So here we are trying to get rid of our past mistakes, and be better role models for our son. Now when I say we, I mostly mean me! OH works nights, and when he gets home, the last thing he wants to talk about is money, so I take responsibilty. He has little interest when I talk about this site, and all the changes I want to make/ have already made, and generally takes the pi$$ when I start talking about my budget spreadsheets. Having said that, he has made some changes of his own. He has given up smoking, goes out nowhere near as much as he used to, and has allowed himself to weaned off branded products - poor bloke's been using Wilko shower gel out of a Radox bottle for so long :D Still, it's like the basics food, if he doesn't see the label, he'll never know. He has also allowed me full access to all his financial affairs (he has NO CLUE how to get to his online banking, he has to ask me every time!). As soon as he gets paid, I transfer out all his money except enough to cover his bills (his mobile, Sky - our compromise as he did give up the fags, his CC and maintenance for his DS1), and all the other DD's come from my account, so it's easy for me to keep track. He has a Vanquis credit card which all his monthly xpenses are paid for on, then paid off at the end of the month. He is under no illusion that if he a) doesn't pay it off each month and incurs interest at 30% apr, b) spends more than his budget, or c) incurs any penalty charges, I WILL NOT bale him out, it gets cut up, and he has to find the money to pay for it himself. I hate having to be like his mother, but sometimes that what naughty boys need!

... God this is a ramble!... anyways, so here were are. My sig shows our progress to date, and once I've figured out Childcare costs and factored in mine and Dan's new salaries, I'll post a new SOA for anyone who wants to comment.

Thanks for taking the time to read my diary... please post any time, all thoughts/comments/suggestions are always welcome
