  • ohhh good luck sarah :j
  • Right, had a pretty rubbish day today..... and I wasn't even at work!!!
All started last night when I couldn't get to sleep....was nearly 3 this morning before I did! OH got in from work, and kindly started DS off with his breakfast etc..... I got up just after 8 to finish it off.
Massive list of jobs to do, so thought I'd get on.... put DS back down to sleep as he was really tired/grumpy, and OH said 'come and lie on the bed with me for 10 mins..... next thing I know its 1130! I obviously needed the sleep, but still, loads to do! Got up again, got DS up and gave him lunch.... getting ready to head out the door, when a friend calls.... she's been evacuated from her house due to fire at a petrol station nearby, so she came round..... next thing I know, its 1500! Run to the Post Office and back with DS and the dog, before DS needs feeding again.... every time the push chair stopped moving, he started whinging....
So its now 1630, getting ready to feed DS and he decides he's too tired to eat, so I put him to bed..... and stupidly I left him to sleep until MiL came round at 1815.... subsequently, the little monkey would not go to sleep at 1900 like normal, and screamed the house down! I then spent the next three hours letting him cry for 15 mins, bringing him downstairs for 15 mins, putting him back to bed, he then starts crying again, I leave him for 15 mins..... yadda yadda yadda. He eventually got to sleep just before 2200.... and I still have 3 hrs + worth of work to do that I ment to do during the day today (but slept instead!), the washing up from OH cooking dinner (I am grateful for him doing it, but we only had pasta/sauce and he still managed to make a mess), and its 2328
Needless to say the work will have to be done tomorrow, at work, and be in late! And I still haven't written to my boss:mad:
On top of that I have just put £220 on my CC by shopping at Boots:eek: but most will be recouped.... some from 'living' budget, some from my birthday budget, some from OH, and some of the rest from MiL, SiL, and OH's aunt as they are all chipping in to buy a stroller for DS for his first birthday. We currently have a three wheeler, which is perfect for me, esp when walking the dog, but is way too heavy for MiL to keep lifting out the car when she has DS, which is quite a lot. It was £65, plus £30 for a foot muff, but its 10pts per £ at Boots.com atm, so with the other stuff I bought, I will get about £22 back in Boots points, plus I should get a couple of £ from Quidco. The other stuff I bought is stuff we use anyway (OH hair gel, he only likes the purple Brylcreem one), BOGOF baby wipes (Boots own) and Sudocrem, plus a perfume for me (for OH to give to me for my birthday in March) and an aftershave for OH (for me to give to him for his birthday, also in March). That should all come on Tuesday...

But worse than all of that multiplied, when we got back from the Post Office this afternoon and I was playing with the dog, I discovered a huge lump on his tummy, right up by the base of his rib cage   ..... had a good feel around the rest of him and found another three lumps:eek: He's got an appt with the vet on Monday, so hopefully they will just be cysts or something where he's getting old (he's nearly 7, which for a labarador is getting on a bit!).... we will have to wait and see.
Best get going soon, back to work tomorrow, and as usual, I have too much to do and not enough time to do it!

  • Oh, and had a bit of a row with OH today, I told him that he spends far too much money when he goes out etc etc etc (same old stuff I'm always nagging about!) and he told me that from now on I am completely in charge of his bank acc, and he will come to me for money etc.... That'll only last until he wants something that I won't give him the money for, then the whole arguement will start again! But hopefully he should get a decent pay this month, so it'll be better than Jan, and he's already planning O/T for this month, plus he lent someone £120 just before Christmas and he *should* be getting that back by next Wednesday.... I have already said, and he agreed, that the money should go off is CC.... I have been keeping tabs on the snowball, originally his DFD was Feb 09 (that's just with paying £150pm) but with the extra bits I've paid off (inc the £61.50 - is half of the CTax payment), its reduced to Jan 09 already :D
I did tell him this, but he doesn't really know what I'm talking about - he doesn't like to look at his snowball, I think because he's a bit embarrassed about the amount of debt, and the short space of time that he managed to aquire it in......

  • Aims for Feb:

[strike]*Pay half Council tax into ISA, and half off OH CC[/strike] Just waiting for payment to clear off OH CC, then update sig. Mine went to Olympic instead of ISA - still good interest rate tho!
    *List more things on eBay
    *List more things on Amazon
*Do all surveys that come through to me
    *Re-start daily clicks
*Take food to work every day
*Walk to work as often as possible
*Make a proper effort to meal plan/shop with list - bit hit and miss atm!
*Not add to my debt, or allow OH to add to his!

Just posted this on another thread, thought I'd copy it across and see how far I get with it.... might just add a couple more....

*Continue to turn OH to a DFW in a stealthy way!
*Stash a nominal amount of money each month from OH's acc to give back to him at a later date (amount tbc)
    *Start saving for Glasgow meet

  • OH's half of the Council Tax payment cleared on my Egg card today, so his debt is now down to £1693.27.... and thats without the monthly payments being taken..... he's paying £150 a month towards paying off his CCs, so its gonna be tight for him, but his debts will go down! Still don't think he's especially bothered, but I am standing firm with no wedding until we have saved, and no saving until the debt has gone!

Just spent MORE money on my CC, got some more stuff from Boots, but Quidco + 10pts per £, so will recoup a bit there, and as it was more BDay prezzies, the money will come out of that budget.... plus I had a £10 off coupon.

I have decided that all the change jar money will go towards OH's debt, unless he becomes a complete @r$£ again, in which case I shall keep it to myself! I am really tempted to count it, and the terramundi, but I will be good and leave it for now.... I know theres more than just £2s in my terr which doesn't help!

Need to find out if I make an overpayment on a CC before the minimum is due, does the minimum payment still get taken.....

  • Thanks Bunny, I hope so too!

Right, little update...... loan payment gone out today...... in fact a lot went out today..... so much in fact, when I first saw my bank balance, I wondered if I'd been paid at all! I had, it just all went back out again.... got some money on its way from OH, but that won't be in til Tues, but still plenty to survive on until then! When it hits on Tuesday, I can pay his £150 off his CCs..... bless him, hes only left with £160 for the whole month... he doesn't seem too phased atm, but will be by the end of next week when its all gone!
    Hey ho!
