Can I use my Limited company to make fundraising for a charity purpose?

In fact, I am tired to be the victim (on the daily basis) of the kind of harassment I have detailed in my thread about Santander, that is equally one of the reason that I created the organization!!!
The organization is a mixed of a political party (the only exception is that I will not be a candidate in any election in my community) and an event management business [really to have fun (that it is why I though social enterprise status may give a boost to the activities)].0 -
You may be one of the rudest posters to have used this forum in a long time.Despite the name, I'm actually a laydee!0

Of, course...it's always easier to see the 'fault' in someone else.0 -

No, it is just harmful/toxic since we discovered this few weeks ago (even it will not be able to have an HMRC charity number since at the moment I alone in the company).
Ps : I prefer to ask question here and to be even criticized rather to make unforgivable mistakes. And I than know any entrepreneur that has not have financial problem.0 -

Hi all,
I have a limited company and I would like to equally make fundraising mainly for charity purpose.
Is it possible to do this through my limited company or do I need to paralelly set up a charity business? Or is it better to convert it to a Social Enterprise?
In fact I would like to do something like at knowhownonprofit(dot)org/people/employment-law-and-hr/copy_of_legal-requirements/216864545

Hi J,
Thanks for taking the time.
We are pioneering - again! Seems to be our thing! But we see no other SE doing what we want in terms of a coprorate structure so we will define it as we go along. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
IN Brassedoff's post, I believe SE stood for Social Enterprise. As it can sometimes mean self employed / self employment, I can understand the confusion, but since he is trying to be helpful and he seems to know what he is talking about, what he says is worth taking into account.
What has been suggested to you, several times and in multiple threads I believe, is that trying to do this apparently on your own makes this unlikely to be viable. It is a barrier to getting a charity registered, it is a barrier to running events successfully.
You said at an earlier stage that you'd been asked to do this. If those asking you to do this want it done, then IMO they need to get stuck in alongside you.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I have a question, how political party survive? It is based on donation of their members isn't?
UK political parties are not charities. Depending on the party as well as individual donations, they receive financial support from businesses and trade unions. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
