Hey all, just popping over from the NSD thread - I'm generally good at taking lunches to work and (I'm sure you're all already up on this one) but I can highly recommend leftover fajita filling in pitta or a wrap - chuck in some salad or mayo (or both lol!) if you fancy. Good ole MSE lunch.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Lunch today was a ham salad sandwich - kingsmill rolls are 2 x pack of 6 for £1 so just 8.3p each
ham from Lidl and some salad I made up over the weekend (lettuce, baby plum toms and cucumber chunks).
Plus some cherries left from a small lot I bought at the greengrocers on Saturday and a packet of mini gingerbread men (I had forgotten I still had some of these left!)
I've also had my last malteaster bunny from my draw at work
I'm really tired today and when I'm tired I graze on rubbish so trying to stop myself eating all the junk in sight!************************************

Bit of a daft question from me....
I pay 50 pence at work for soup and 20 pence for a gorgeous bread roll.
I don't have access to a microwave but do have a thermos flask.
Do you think I can save money by taking soup to work and making my own bread rolls. I also don't want to take soup if it won't stay warm. Especially as the only thing I have access to is boiling water. Soup and a roll are the only things that fill me up.Money money money.

I make pea soup and home made bread - yesterday I bought 1 onion (14p) and a bag of Tesc0 value frozen peas (89p), and a bread mix (89p), made 5 portions of soup with stock and some lentils to thicken it up and more than enough bread for the week. So very cheap and delicious. My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

I'm falling off the wagon at the moment due to poor health. For almost a month now I've not had a single night of solid sleep, initially it was due to dental problems which resulted in an extraction, and then as soon as that had healed I developed my first ever episode of sinusitis on the other side of my face, the sinusitis didn't respond to the first lot of antibiotics so I've just started a new course today, but the pain it causes wakes me at least once during the night when the painkillers have worn off, and keeps me awake until the next lot take effect.
The point of sharing this is not a sympathy plea (although I won't knock it if I get any lol), but to explain why this is having an affect on my LTW motivation. I'm absolutely shattered and am using most of my pain-free time at home to catch up on jobs I've not felt up to doing the rest of the time, or catching 40 winks to try make up for lost sleep. The pain is radiating to my jaw and making all my teeth sensitive, so eating in itself can be a challenge, which is making me crave comfort foods when I do eat. I slipped on Friday last week as I'd brought nothing in for lunch and bought myself a nice sub roll with soft fillings, it was sooo good and felt like a real indulgence, but I can already feel the temptation sneaking in to do it again this week. As it is I already treated myself to a rotisserie chicken from the supermarket lastnight, an expense I usually avoid nowadays since they got so expensive, but as it will do me for at least a couple of dinners, and has been used for today's sandwiches it's not all bad.
Anyway, I need a boot up the backside to help me resist temptation in the next couple of days!£12k in 2019 #084 £3000/£3000

Poor you Twiggy, that's horrible
Could you stock up on some tins of soup if you don't have the energy to make any - nice and easy to eat with a sore mouth.

I think I bored myself out of soup in the first week of being unable to eat solid food; cup a soup and a chunk of bread for dunking seemed like the most luxurious dinner I'd ever had the first couple of times. However, it soon became boring, I'm also not keen on hot food in this heat, but thank you very much for the suggestion.
Full admiration to you for taking the time to make your own btw. I'm not great in the kitchen, but this is largely because I'm the fussiest eater on the planet. Bland is the key when I'm concerned, both in terms of colour and flavour! :rotfl:£12k in 2019 #084 £3000/£3000
