Thanks for that Squeaky, sorry didn't realise there was another thread going. What about a Daily thread for whats cooking? You know like they do on the DFB about 'what have you spent today' ??Rebel No 220

As you've said in your first post - most people add their menu into their posts on the Old Style Daily Thread and, as you can now see, there is this thread which is also filled with daily menu's.
I think that's enough places to have menus.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Oooh are we allowed to bump up old threads now?
I'm getting so confused as to whether we're allowed to or not?
Great question Icemaiden. Quite often what others are cooking/baking are included in their entries in the OS Daily Thread (which spurned the idea for a daily spend thread on the DFB)
I like to batch cook/bake and utilise the oven to full capacity as often as possible, but not daily as it isn't always energy efficient or practical in our household.
On today's list for a batch cook/bake are:-
Meatloaf x 2 (x1 for lunchbox meals, x1 for freezer)
Shepard's Pie (for tonights meal)
Apple and Cinnamon Cake (lunchboxes and cuppa cake LOL )
Semolina Pudding (dessert - leftovers are sprinkle with seeds/fruit puree and used for breaksfast instead of porridge)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

There's a difference between joining an old thread to add a similar post to it to save proliferation of posts all on the same subject - and posting into a thread purely and deliberately to bring it to the top of the forum listing.
Joining threads is encouraged. Porridge for breakfast, tonight I am having aubergine bake and courgettes (M&S), for lunch, I will see what I fancy. Wednesday is my day off.
Monday and Tuesday I made a vegetarian bake from scratch and had a Mexican feast from scratch last night. Also baked some scones and cakes.
Mexican Feast
Slow cooked some beef (reduced at Tesco) to make burritos with kidney beans from a tin (Tesco Value) and assorted herbs and spices I have in the cupboard, some chilli tomato sauce lurking in the fridge, dash of tequilla and corn.
Made quesadillas with some leftover grated Mexican cheese, red peppers and some of the above meat mix. The tortillas I used were an own brand Tesco 10 pack - small ones.
Melted some of the cheese on Tesco Value tortilla chips
Wrapped the meat in tortillas and put some more grated cheese on top.
Grating really makes the cheese go far and hubby thought the dinner tasted well cheesy, yet between 3 of us, which could have easily served 4, didn't use much cheese. An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:
