Ouchie  Poor DD, Edinburghlass :(:(:( Shame you're too far away, she could of had some *real* (HM) Chicken Soup ;):D Hope she is on the mend very soon!!!

Wow!! You have a "lobby"??? (I have a coat hanger - padded, of course - and an understairs cupboard with a rail in it ... don't suppose that counts as a "lobby" :undecided

Well, further to my post above ... I've changed the semolina pud to a "Pineapple Upside Down Pud" ... except I didn't have any pineapple  so it is now an "Apricot and Prune Upsidedown Pudding" :D

Also, tried out a recipe for a "Cheese and Celery Loaf" but the instructions were clearly *wrong* and I've had to add far more flour than the recipe stated - fingers X'd that turns out ok (I shall know for sure in another half hour; but, if it fails, I'll have to turn it into something else tomorrow :o )

    :rotfl: :T

    would you share the recipe

    if its a sucess ;):p

..... and posting into a thread purely and deliberately to bring it to the top of the forum listing.

Joining threads is encouraged. Bumping them isn't.

    Thank you. :)

By definition, the only persons permitted to merge (the joining of threads) are BG's. So, just to clarify then, we are not permitted to bump (loose term!) an older post that has been discussed before as a "timely reminder" when it's perceived that the topic may well come in useful (and be brought up again by newer members who may not be aware that the thread exists and has been discussed before? Thereby, would also curb a potential "proliferation of posts all on the same subject"?)

I hadn't read anything that indicates that bumping a thread up to bring it to the attention of others was not permitted (Spam an accepted exception) and I'm obviously aware that I was responsible for doing so on Pancake Day.

Unfortunately, not being aware that I was doing anything "wrong" I can only say that it was done simply to encourage the sharing of information with newer members and in some instances to give newer members some fresh ideas for forthcoming events such as Mothers Day and Easter. The buttons thread I found especially helpful because I have a stash of buttons and there were ideas there I wasn't aware of (yes, weird I may be, but I'm sure I'm not the only button collector  ) and may have been helpful to others or even garnered some new ideas. Oh, I did bump up one of my older threads from a year ago too on the subject of OS handicrafts which have been passed down/learned but again I can only say that was because with so many new people joining, I was just as interested in hearing their experiences too.

OK, so now I know that only BG's can bring up older threads for the purpose of joining them with a newer thread on the same subject, I shall keep my eye on the ball. Thank you squeaky :)

We have just finished a repast of Chicken & Chick Pea curry (cooked in the slow cooker) with rice.

I thoroughly enjoyed mine, even if it was rather more stew-like than the curries that DH produces by using just the Wok. However, I find those rather indigestible because they can be very intense and somewhat greasy. I also love chick peas, so I was an extra happy bunny. :)

DS ate all his chicken and if a chick pea managed to cling to his fork, then he ate those too.

DH hates chick peas because, ordinarily, they're too hard. However tonight he decided he had got terrible stomach ache and alternately groaned in pain and grumped at DS up until he decided he wasn't going to eat any more.

So - mixed fortunes for my poor little curry.

Can't have cost much to produce - just the price of a couple of onions, some garlic, some curry paste, tomato paste, a tin of chick peas, a bit of honey, rice and four chicken breasts which my Mum gave us last time she came to visit. Hooray for Mum's Red Cross parcels. :D
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:
