Breakfast - chunk of french stick (that Tesco were selling off last night for 20p) with banana on.
Dinner - Probably more french stick with cheese salad.
Tea - Lobby and some more cheap tesco bread. They were selling loads off lastnight. Cheesy french sticks 15p, organic wholemeal loaves 20p, croissants 20p. Brill, got lots.I've been lucky, I'll be lucky again. ~ Bette Davis0 -

Can I be really nosy and ask what on earth "lobby" is????Kirsty, Taunton, xxx0 -
Strepsy - (hope I'm not teaching you to suck eggs) but did you know if your French Stick has lost it's crispness, you can revitalise it by sprinkling with water and popping it in the oven for a few minutes? Ok, not worth putting your oven on especially for - but, if you need to put it on anyway, it's worth it for the crisp french bite~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hehe, of course. I was born in Stoke, it's a Staffordshire fave. Traditionally it's like a beef big soup or stew with loads of root vegetables? I'm veggie so just have loads of root veg in it. Sometimes I put mixed beans in or lentils, sometimes pasta or whatnot. Tonight it will be rather swede heavy as Tesco had huge swedes last night half-price.
Queenie, thanks for the tip. I do sometimes pop it in the oven to crisp but have never sprinkled water on, will try that.I've been lucky, I'll be lucky again. ~ Bette Davis0 -

The flapjack element was supplied by the tub of flapjack crumbs I'd accumulated in the freezer from cutting up all my school flapjacks.I thought they'd add some crunch to the muffins.I don't use prunes often enough so I chopped some up and threw those in too. Also used soft brown sugar for a fudgy touch. They're cooling now, will let you know how they were later0 -

Hope you manage a peaceful rest today.
:shhh: I'll rustle up some HM Chicken Soup for you (might help with the sleeping?) if I can cadge some of your Hotpot :silenced:
Daughter, 15, is a great believer in Chicken Soup when you aren't well. She is stuffed full of the cold and broken wrist to boot and was sent home from school yesterday morning. She phoned me at work and asked me to bring home some Chicken Soup, the nearest shop only had cup a soups, not impressed.
This morning I was despatched to Morrisons to find some proper Chicken Soup :rotfl: It was quite a decision between Morrison's own or Heinz as to which was proper
oh and I hang the coats in the lobby0 -
Ouchie  Poor DD, Edinburghlass
Shame you're too far away, she could of had some *real* (HM) Chicken Soup
Hope she is on the mend very soon!!!
Wow!! You have a "lobby"??? (I have a coat hanger - padded, of course - and an understairs cupboard with a rail in it ... don't suppose that counts as a "lobby" :undecided
Well, further to my post above ... I've changed the semolina pud to a "Pineapple Upside Down Pud" ... except I didn't have any pineapple  so it is now an "Apricot and Prune Upsidedown Pudding"
Also, tried out a recipe for a "Cheese and Celery Loaf" but the instructions were clearly *wrong* and I've had to add far more flour than the recipe stated - fingers X'd that turns out ok (I shall know for sure in another half hour; but, if it fails, I'll have to turn it into something else tomorrow)
