It's all made up and stuff. Pretty much like my posts.

  • When booking the appointment this psychic only takes your mobile number and she does not look at you during the read.

She does also seem to be well regarded locally but I'm still skeptical, my friend wants me to get a read too so she doesn't feel odd but I'm not sure.

I have never been to one but I would accompany a friend if they wanted me to.

I would however take whatever was said with a pinch of salt!

    Cold reading.

I didn't believe in them at all. But my OH went to see one to help fill a space as someone had dropped out, and he brought back a bit of paper with all the stuff she had written down during their session.

The stuff she knew was incredible. There is no way she could have guessed.

No. It's bunkum. It's all cold reading.

Not to mention taking money from the desperate and distressed. Some of the worst charlatans in the world are "Psychics".

Have a look at http://stopsylvia.com/news/ a credible, well-researched site concerning Sylvia Browne (memorably caught out on the Montel Williams Show (in the US) telling parents their missing son was dead and where his body could be found, only for him to turn up alive shortly afterwards, having been kidnapped and kept captive by a nutter), if anyone needs any further convincing as to how dangerous these people can be. A few years ago, she was charging $750 (about £490) for a half-hour "telephone reading" - no doubt it's almost double that now...

Sylvia Browne is a real piece of work. Nearly ten years ago she told the parents of Amanda Berry, one of the women recently rescued from their captive in Ohio, that their daughter was dead as well.

She is consistently caught out and contradictory and if her "work" wasn't so emotionally destroying it would be amusing how when agreeing to take James Randi's $1m challenge to prove her abilities, she then chose to make numerous excuses for not doing it, including telling flat out lies.
  • Could some possibly have a gift? No doubt many or most are scams.
