What does everyone find in these small shops that they wouldn't buy for a tenner but would for a fiver?
    I think....

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or if it's a genuine question.

As far as I'm concerned, I've either been to restaurants I'd normally go to, or to a couple of other places I like but I rarely go to. Therefore, it's simply £5 x 2 (we have various cards) per meal!

I buy things that I would buy any way.

I have just been to a pharmacy and they had a great promotion on deodorants. The deodorants were half price - £1 - so I bought £10 worth. They can stay in the cupboard until needed.

Last time I had keys cut, had shoes repaired and bought light bulbs.

This time round, there is no point in buying over priced goods..... last time it didn't matter if you were paying £5 for something worth £3 as we were getting the full £5 refunded.

I agree more difficult this time
So far I have bought my Lunch and dinner in a deli on the offer 10.20 in total (so £5.20 actual spend) I needed to buy both as going straight from one job to another and am in central London so £2.60 for lunch and dinner is reasonable

I wish they had a search for caf!/pub/gift shop etc section
Recently married and loving it x

I have just spent £180 at 6 butchers, 3 cards, filling freezer with meat I usually buy anyway, therefore, saving myself £90.
eg;;1 kilo of mince £8.50, 1 kilo of cumberland sausage. £9.soon adds up, and I hate shopping, OH usually does it all, but, not this.?
I,m lucky, I,m surrounded by merchants,
    on the shopsmall list,selling everything.
last year, I was giddy, going around them all, but this year, cut back to basics.

Then I,ve bought garden compost at 3 for £12, saving a fiver,x 3 times also, saving another £15, which I buy every year, without fail.
Last years was better, because, my local butchers,of which I,ve got 6 on the list, were happy to split the bill, and I saved the full amount, and purchased more.It takes £300 to fill my freezer with meat from GOOD local butchers, so do it when this promo is on.
    ET.AL .etc
aint rocket science;;;just basic economics, not greed.
    This is MSE;;;;;;

I wasn't being sarcastic; although there are quite a few shops locally I never use small local shops as they are more expensive - for example I always make my own lunch as can't afford to buy it, last time I got a free lunch by buying from the local corner shop 1 day £5, this time if a bought lunch for 2 days for a tenner (assuming it would last that long) I still end up paying 2.50 per day which is more than twice what my home made lunch costs.
    I think....

that,s why I use this offer for small butchers, as they are very expensive compared to supermarkets, but, quality of meat is better,so, I,m stocking up.
wouldn,t use them on a weekly basis.
    no offence taken.
any other time, Morries does us.
there,s always something one can buy from a local shop, with this offer, that cannot be cheaper elsewhere, as with my compost from local garden centre.3 for £12 - £5 =£7. Homebase is £5 per bag, or 4 for £15, still saving a quid on 4
    etc.
edit; my plats have just been refunded.
