has to be 10 diff retailers - although last time i had 3 co-ops close to me so could use each of those - if you have multiple cards then you can use the same retailer with each card.
    I,ve just used the last of my meat from last deal, so shall be visiting local butchers to restock freezer;
Loads of shops by me, made a killing last year, but the £10 per spend is a shame, but, Local Indian takeaways, which I froze, would only accept £10 spend per card. Got 4 cards. 2x Mbna, and 2 x Plats.I got me e-mail yesterday from amex for plat, and registered, and doing the same with Mbna same as last year; soon spend £400 on meat for £200.big saving.
half price is better than full price.
Keen gardener, still got 5 bags compost from last year, but will restock more. Most centres sell them 3 for £10 or £12 anyway.
    happy hunting

    My local one isn't :(

Franchise where each store has to opt in to the deal?
    Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Probably. I don't even think any of the ones in Norwich even accept American Express, although I generally avoid them anyway, Dominoes is a rip off.

100% fail thus far. Went onto the shop small website, picked two merchants shown on there that I'd need to use anyway, both say they don't take AmEx.

    Great stuff.

    Always best to ask first.

A lot of people were caught out last time at restaurants. After they had eaten their meal they presented the Amex and it was refused.

Bare in mind pretty much all of the restaurants on the list do take Amex they just won't want to. I normally just give them the snarky attitude of "Oh well thanks for the free meal then". That normally changes their mind pretty quickly.

I started to walk out in one restaurant that actually had the Amex logo on the door and the shop small logo on the door last year and then said they didn't take it. They soon changed their mind again.

Being an American Express merchant myself, it annoys me when merchants can't afford or don't want to pay a slightly higher fee (0.1 or 0.2%). Often Amex ends up cheaper anyway as Amex cardholders will generally use a reward card if they can't pay via Amex and Reward Visa and MasterCards charge another 1% on top anyway.

Although now, American Express is actually the cheapest card for me to take (especially via contactless as I've got an offer with them at the moment where I don't pay any interchange on under £10 contactless transactions).

Thats another thing that annoys me though lol, Lots of small amex merchants (and some big ones) don't add Amex contactless onto the list, it literally takes 30 seconds :P
  • Fail for me so far.

Went to World of Golf in Croydon and was told they do not accept AMEX.

I'll be emailing AMEX shortly to complain.
