    Been for 38 week appt.
Glucose in waters again (every time now) so a third glucose tolerance test booked for next week- what's the point when operation eviction is in progress?
Baby was "free" at 36 weeks but is now well down (engaged to 2/5 above) now.
Had internal examination to see if sweep possible. Cervix soft and open at outside but still closed at the top. So no sweep but she agitated it a bit. Got to be honest it wasn't too bad- I know a proper sweep must be more uncomfortable but if this had hurt with more booked for Friday and next week I would have been miserable with the thought. I dreaded internals that happen in labour last time i was pregnant as I always tense up during smear tests and they find it difficult. But everything is softer and looser at the end of pregnancy and cervix is lower so they are ok. Only one that hurt even a bit was the doctor- men have bigger hands lol.
Sorry for too much detail but hopefully it puts someone's mind at ease ;)

Ooo exciting stuff, I only had show as contractions started, 49 hours before birth. But judging from here, it can be several days before, sorry. Still its all progress, fingers crossed its not long for you ;) Keep us posted :)

Exciting Bangton! You might be one of the few who delivers on their due date!

Have hard baby lumps today, as if I can feel the shape of the baby, am thinking BH but feel different somehow. Now starting to feel a little nervous about labour!

Had our last parenting class last night - think the only thing it was useful for was to make us realise we have more of an idea of how to care for a baby than we thought (our only experience of children is my nephews, youngest was 7 this year so it's been a while), we were probably the youngest there but we seemed a lot more confident/informed than the other parents which surprised me saying as we haven't read any books or anything - most I've done is read pregnancy magazines but can't say I've learn much from them. I think the other parents thought there was one answer fits all babies, whereas we are a bit more laid back in than we know the basics and the rest will come with experience/parents instinct. At least I hope so :p made me smile though when the mw was saying about the home check and seeing where baby sleeps as they have a lot they find sleeping in things other than cots/Moses baskets - ie drawers etc. I was picturing her face if she ever saw Finnish babies sleeping in a box :D (http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-22751415 )

Bangton, continualdiamond and anyone else trying to bring on labour... Why don't you make the famous raspberry and lemon curd cake from a few months ago (recipe here), the ladies at the time were all joking it induces labour ;)

Having my weekly blub whilst watching The Midwives. Emotional wreck! Felt a bit sorry for that girl's OH at the end, she was more concerned that her mum had missed the birth than him. She even got to hold the baby before him!
  • Getting to 6pm and I'm shattered! Baby appears to want to come out of my belly button bum first as he keeps shoving his bum outwards. Midwife appointment tomorrow and consultant on Thursday so we'll see if they let me go over or if I'll be induced (due to GD initially they said no chance of going over, then because it's been well controlled and baby's size is in normal centiles it was "down to me").
