Just wondering what your thoughts are on cot beds with drop sides. Are drop sides needed? Can't find any drop side cot beds, only cots, on John Lewis website and we have vouchers to spend there. Is it a real benefit or are three cot positions enough?

Wondering if it's too early to go to bed?!

We've got a cot bed which has 3 levels. I found the drop side beds seemed flimsy and I've heard a lot of children learnt o shake the sides and they manage to open them. I've managed with the 3 levels as she stands up now and holds her arms out to be picked up. I'm 25 wks pregnant and coping fine with my 27lb DD!!

It is defo not too early- contemplating it myself! :p

I'm 27 and am feeling this pregnancy a lot more than my other two at 21 and 24.

Not sure whether it is cause I'm getting older or a combination of already having two young kids, work, the baby lying back to back and a weaker pelvic floor from having a natural birth with DS2.

Unbelievable how hormonal I am with this one too. I have never cried because of work but in the last 3 weeks I've had two meltdowns in front of my new manager. I'm so embarrassed as its just not like me at all, I usually pride myself on being an outspoken, opinionated cow!

I keep dropping things and it's too much effort to bend over so I just leave them there...

lobey - I didn't think they made drop sided cots any more! I'm so behind. We have a cot bed with 3 levels and I used to love it when DD was on the top level. In fact, I don't think we moved it down a level til she was about 7 or 8 months as she was a late sitter upper and pull upper now. She's 2 now and still has the sides up. I'm fine lifting her in and out but I have to lean over funny with one leg in the air when I give her a kiss and a cuddle at night. and yes, never too early for bed. I can't wait for Big Brother to finish next week as then I can start going to bed earlier than midnight.

PP - Good luck with the eviction. I look forward to the update. Do you have to be in super early in the morning?

Baby has got hiccups, which is nice. Baby also seems to like the sound of DDs voice - goes crackers when shes talking.

  • I seem to be hungry all day.... Then get home and can't eat anything!!!

Well have done nothing on the hospital bag this evening... But managed to get a m&p flo and flex baby slings, play gym and a changing mat for £47 from Asda. Yet to buy anything at full price... Very money saving!!!!
  • lovely bargains welsh_cosmic! OH says I have too many baby clothes - because I think I have enough. Baby is pretty wriggly now. I seem to be getting 3 jabs in quick succession. No pattern to bubba's movements that I can recognise really. does anyone else feel like baby kicks them in the noo-noo? 31+6
  • I'm also noticing the 'hunger' feeling more. This morning after my usual bowl of cereal I was then having a yoghurt an hr later, followed by lunch 2 hours after that of a sandwich, fruit and some crisps.

I was awake at 3:30am this morning and felt hungry but pushed it aside thinking, no, surely I'm misreading it, I cannot be hungry at this hour of the morning.

Re the being weighed again, I didn't have to be, I was asked. She said she likes to weigh again at 34 weeks but understands if ladies say no. It's basically a kinda endish rough weight gain as she won't weight me again now.

She was lovely as said from looking at me she said I looked well and that I hadn't gained much extra weight that wasn't connected to the pregnancy.

I'm off to York tomorrow with some relatives, just hope they're prepared for plenty of rest stops as I cannot walk for very long before I get uncomfortable.

Lola I was given omeprazole too - I love my dr now. Heartburn 24/7 was making life miserable. Even water made it worse but since I've had the tablets I can eat anything, anytime!

I'm old too - 37. Had my oldest when i was 20, shes 16 now and I expect when we are out together with little man in his pram, people will assume he is hers, not her baby brother.

I feel sorry for those with sleepless nights - both our girls slept through within 4wks so I'm hoping this one does too....I can deal with anything but sleep depravation!

    Morning all :)

I'm 27 and this is my first and I don't feel much better than the rest of you! I'm always hungry at the minute too, I thought it may be due to boredom now that I'm 1 week into maternity leave. Still got sooo much to do in the house, I feel like today I'll have enough energy to get cracking with it!

My dog isn't well, and as we don't have a garden I have to be on standby constantly for his 'I need to go NOW' dance which he's doing every few hours and take him for a walk! So between cleaning up after him and washing his bum I feel I'm getting lots of pooey nappy practice :)

Got a bit stressed out last night when DH told me off for lounging on the sofa and he basically said that its my fault the baby is back to back. I'd been sitting on my ball and walking the dog all day so it was bloody cheeky, but also annoying that he thinks I actually have any control over the baby's position. Combined with the usual pregnancy comments I'm always getting I'm super annoyed and peed off! (Such as when friends with kids do the 'just you wait' talk or speak to me as though I haven't realised there's a baby inside me and I'll have 'a shock' when she arrives). Hormones I think :)

    Anyway, 36+4 for me

PS good luck for today pp
