I have managed to read both meters. Very nice to submit such a low gas usage reading, from July to August, my bill was £2.57 , and as I seemed to have used the same amount August to September, the excess DD is building up ready for the coming winter months. Like a lot of you here, I'm trying to hold off from putting the heating on until 1st October, but not sure if I will be able to stick to that, as I hate feeling cold.

We are also holding off on the heating as we are getting a new boiler fitted at the end of this month as part of the extension work. We weren't sure the 15 yr old one we have now would be up to the job of supplying the new underfloor heating in addition to it's current load. I hope it will be a bit more efficient. If possible the engineer will also separate the attic room off onto a separate circuit so that we can heat just that without the rest of the house when OH works from home up there.
I can dream of a £2.57 bill

I have failed ,I have had to put the heating on for an hour, as I have felt so cold. I'm blaming the fact that I can't move around much because of my knee so I'm not generating any heat. I am completely fed up having to limp everywhere, can't believe that a silly little incident can go on and on.
Spent money this morning on having my haircut, so feeling tidy.
Have moved some ad hoc savings from an account giving 0.05% interest  to one paying slightly more, 1.25%. This is not money I can tie up for any length of time, as I will dip into it to pay for annual expenses, starting next February.

Went back to work on Saturday, so have had spend free days until today. Had to fill my car, £58, and tomorrow I have my first physio appointment, so that's another £45. Good job I have been frugal earlier on in the month, as payday is not until Monday.

Hi Quintwins, thanks for dropping by. I've been good with the heating since that one lapse and have managed without it since.
Mortgage payment has gone, now down to 118,696.37
Out of the blue, g/f asked me to help her with looking for a new fixed rate as "you know about these things" :rotfl: I am envious of how little she has left to pay in comparison to me.
TT of 97p. Will be spending today, £40 for physio and have to do some food shopping.

Been busy at work, but have managed to Tilly Tidy £1.08 since I last posted. Also had a payout of £43.38 from Topcash, so transferred £45 to the car pot.
Heating still off, but weather is supposed to turn on Thursday, which coincides with my days off, so don't know if I will manage to keep it switched off.

Need to read gas and electricity meters somehow, not sure how I will manage that as don't want to put any strain on my knee.

I have also fixed my energy price for the next 18 months, so if there are 8% price rises over the next few weeks, I've booted the can down the road
