Urban Myth, this does nothing to a car!0 -
Maybe, maybe not, but I bet a load of barbeque fire lighters up the exhaust would!! :rotfl:0

Vandalising cars just because of noise is pathetic.
Vandalising cars might be pathetic, but some people are driven (no pun intended) to it.
In my case, there is a little sh*t that drives around out quiet street full of young families at 50mph in his souped up Suzuki Swift with an exhaust thats bigger than my car... when I find out where he lives i'll be quite happy to report him to the police, as I reported the little sh*ts that come from the rough estates to my street just because it has nice open fields around it...

I was going to say that it was impossible to soup up a Suzuki Swift - then I thought about it and realised that even changing the spark plugs would give a significant performance boost over the factory standard. He must have done quite a lot to get it up to 50mph.
The size of a car's exhaust is in inverse proportion to the size of the owner's brain. (There are alternative versions of this.)The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Thanks so much all, it hasn't silenced the car but I'm now giggling so much I can't hear it any more!
Rest assured that I shan't be doing anything antisocial - it's just nice to know that I could....0 -
If it works against a tank, it should sort out your car problem...0

Oh Really!!
So where will the exhaust gases go then???
Don't be daft, unless the exhaust system is leaking the car cannot start unless you get a huge build up of gasses behind said obstruction, so much so that it blasts the spud out.
BTW YES I HAVE done it!!

I'm appealing to anyone who may know something about engines.Wretched anti-social neighbours have a knackered old car which they insist on driving up and down our otherwise quiet road late at night, roaring the engine as loudly as possible. I think they think they are Jeremy Clarkson or something. Is there a way of getting their car to operate more quietly?
Make a complaint to the local plods.
They should send someone out to see what is happening.
If not approach your local council.
Perhaps get a few neighbours to back you up in writing."Unhappiness is not knowing what we want, and killing ourselves to get it."Post Count: 4,111 Thanked 3,111 Times in 1,111 Posts (Actual figures as they once were))Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.0 -

Not tried it but it's supposed to turn it into like toffee as the engine heats up. I guess it all depends on whether it goes through the fuel pump and injector. Perhaps you need to use very very fine sugar and grind it even more in a food processor.
But as we found out from Tescos petrol, adding silicon to it damages the lambda sensors in cars and makes them break down0 -
Mention to plod & council that you think the car is in excess of 85 db exhaust noise.
Both will probably do nothing and at most refer you to the other authority. But if you complain enough and write to your MP that the authorities refuse to do a noise check, you might get somewhere.0
