  • Hi, Welcome skintandscared!!

I like the sound of your low syn cocktail and may try it over xmas, I was just planning to have some ginger wine with diet lemonade in it, can't drink wine as it makes me really ill and I don't like most spirits, love beer and cider but it's so fattening!!

Shala- I am amazed that I have lost another 1lb!!

I've not really ate to plan at all this week and am baking belgium slice, lemon shortbread and vanilla fudge at the moment for xmas presents, so will probably eat a load of syns today!!

Frogga - where are you??? hope you are OK, love to all on here for a lovely Christmas and a slim New Year xxx
  • love beer and cider but it's so fattening!!

    Thanks ThriftyShelly!

If you love cider, you could always try Apple Sourz with diet lemonade instead...?

Good luck with your weigh in skintandscared, sounds like you are doing really well - I love slimming world as I am never hungry and can eat lots of filling food unlike some other diet plans

Welcome skintandscared - sounds like you are doing really well so far :T.

Wine is my normal tipple but like Thirftyshelly I am a cider lover too and the apple sourz/diet lemonade combination sounds interesting - I have never tried it before ;).

I've had Apple Sourz with diet lemonade before. Its nice but I couldn't drink more than one as very sweet.

Wine is my vice of choice - white mostly but usually went for the odd bottle of red in the winter - but oh how that's all change since joining Slimming World! Since April when I joined I think I've had 3 bottles of wine!!

I'm now a gin girl and love it - and that's just what I drink now. Giving up wine has definitely helped me shed the pounds and whilst you miss what you've given up at the start you soon get used to something else. So that's my advice - find the least syn drink that you enjoy and stick to that. I used to have the odd beer and cider as well but again they had to go in April !!

I was in the back of someones car the other night whilst they were getting a McD's drive through and it occurred to me that I hadn't had one from March 2013! lol

I haven't had sourz before but my previous drink of choice was vodka redbull so it can't be any sweeter than that LOL! I'm going to get a bottle of cherry or raspberry sourz and a bottle of extra dry martini, plus diet lemonade. That should sort me for the whole of Christmas

PS I was shocked to see in my book that vodka/gin, etc, is 4 syns for 35ml and extra dry martini is only 2.5 for 50ml! Sourz is the same as vodka though. Would be handy if I like the martini more... we will see LOL!

  • Hi All

how are you doing? Sorry i have been missing again - yesterday was hectic (catching up with work then putting final touches to ucas statement whilst at work) then myself & some colleagues went to see the hobbit at IMAX 3D which was amazing. Having never been to IMAX before i was pretty impressed with the screen quality and the sound. Really enjoyed the film too - Its much better than the first instalment, and IMO more of a prequel to LOTR. Its very "loosely" based on the book. Loved it though :T

I has an EE of sorts day yesterday :-

    B - apple/blueberry & vanilla muller vanilla
L - Pasta with passata & herbs - hex a cheese on top

Went off plan from dinner as we went to handmade burger company so had a beef burger on brioche plus about 7-10 chips . No dessert. Drank diet coke.
I avoided all sweets etc at the cinema as i was full anyway.

    Today -

    Green

    B - 2 x toast with marmite & spread (2)
L - Sweet Potato with HM chilli
D - Not sure yet.. will decide when i get in

    Snacks - hex a - milk, options (2), Wineage (5???)

That's amazing lantana, I'm just realising how far you've come in such a relatively short time. I'm delighted for you.:T:D

And welcome from me too.:) I think you're really wise to start before Christmas rather than put it off. Just look at what lantanna's achieved and think of the bikini body you could have by the summer!

Denise, fortunately our tasting session had a fair few bits of savoury. It never goes down very well at our group compared with the evening as it's early in the day (9.15) to be eating stuff. I had a fair bit of frittata. I love frittata and I'm going to make one tomorrow so that when I'm snacking I'm sensible.;)

I'm not going to go officially off-plan over the next couple of weeks but I will be having off-plan/flexi meals. So today I've had SW breakfast and lunch but just about to order Chinese for DDs birthday meal.:o

    Have a good evening all.:A

Ive come back on looking for my mojo - because Ive well and truly lost it. Been doing SW for ages and lost getting on for 2 stones. I suddenly stopped losing in the summer, despite sticking to plan and its gone downhill ever since. I think I have gained nearly a stone since the summer.

I am very cross with myself and cant understand it because I was so disciplined before. Never ate bread, biscuits, sweets, icecream, crisps, full fat milk, sugar etc etc. all the time I was doing SW. I walk every day and am quite active.

Since I stopped losing weight I have been fed up and have just lost the plot. I started then sneaking in bits of cheese, icecream, a few crackers here and there ... things I would never have touched before.

I think I will just have to forget SW until after Xmas now because its making me miserable. I cant stand the sight of anything SW related or even Muller yoghourts. How is it possible to just swing from being very positive to totally not being interested?

I bought some lovely new clothes last SPring and will be heartbroken if I cant fit into them this coming Spring.
