Brilliant article. I have anxiety issues myself so know the true value of cross stitch lies beyond the beautiful images you get when you're done. I really hope the business takes off for you0 -

. This one is going to take me ages. There's nine pages of it, then the backstitch, and i haven't even done page one. I know it'll be worth it in the end (it's the bothy cut through pirate ship for my older brother who is a pirate) but it's going to be hard work.
On the bright side once i have finished it i have a very special one to do for my mum (photo stitch of her parents) and then i can finally start doing a piece for myself. I have three kits in storage (a gorjuss one, a vintage one and a christmas cupcakes one) plus the threads i need to do the massive sewing room one that was in one of the crossstitch mags a while back. Should take me till at least the end of next year!
Photo stitches are wonderful but again a lot of work
Perhaps you should choose the easiest of your 3 kits for your next project
Looking forward to seeing progress photos:)0 -
Been lurking as usual and loving all your progress.
Flat Eric - pleased you found your material. Can't stand the thought of starting a piece all over.
Coxy11 - The flower shop looks lovely. Keep up the great work.
Coffee&Stitches - HAED! Spill the beans which one are you going to do. Details please! I have a design (well 3 actually) but the one I really want to start is enormous, and I am so nervous about buying the fabric that I keep putting it off.
As for everyone else not mentioned keep up the good work its just what I need to encourage me to get stitching.

Hi everyone,
Great article Winnie - I too suffer from anxiety attacks and find stitching helpsGood luck with the business (insert jealous icon here)
I'd love to do a Cut Thru design - the haberdashery shop - would love to stitch it for my Mum. She made DH and I a wedding sampler and also gave me a framed cross stitch for my birthday this week. I jokingly told her that I will be passing it off as my own work :rotfl:
No work today and DH is off to meet some friends later. I can hear the flower shop calling my name

coxy. Love the flower shop
fegood news about the missing project
coffee. Another company which does mainly designs without back stitch is Lanarte and they only do kits which might be more suitable if you don't have a stash of threads to use. Lots of different subjects in their range. HAED designs tend to cover the whole of the fabric which is one reason they take so long but they are wonderful when finished0 -

Let us know when the closing down sale startsHope that doesn't sound too mercenary
I'm sorry for recommending them and I hope anyone who did order gets it fulfilled. I had no clue it was closing down, like ruth_honey said I thought they were redesigning the website :undecided
I checked out DMC as I was thinking of maybe buying threads and selling them myself, they have loads of online stockists so i'll check some of them out firstCross Stitch Cafe Member No1WIP: Cross Stitch: - Crochet:0
