Hi everyone. I've been away for a few days at a family wedding and had loads to do before I went and of course the inevitable washing etc on return so have only just caught up. Too many fabulous finishes and progress pics for me to comment on individually but I have loved looking at them all. Thank you
I mentioned Willow Fabrics as a possible supplier of large cuts of aida. They have a summer sale on if anyone is looking for coloured linen or aida or aida band. Not a lot of choice it some great prices
Was sorting through a bag of projects I had kitted up over the years. One of them was a willow patten chart from Cross Stitch Collection and on looking through the saline saw that Future published 7 XS magazines at the time (1998). Cross Stitch Collection and Cross Stitcher are the only 2 still going. Needlework. Cross Stitch. Quick & Easy. Needlecraft. Celebrations in XS. All bitten the dust though I'm sure I'm not the only old stitcher who still has copies of them. Interesting too that some of the designers are still going strong - Leslie Brankin. Heritage Stitchcraft. Caroline Palmer. Lucid Heaton. Cathy Bussi but a lot of the shops advertising in the magazine are no more. Times change
Have picked up my Stitchers 12 days again and intending to do some this evening.0 -
Hi everyone just a quickie to say sorry I've not been around but I have been in hospital for the last 2 weeks (got out on Monday), was admitted on my birthday of all days
Something wrong with my bladder, won't go in to details.
Just had a quick catch up and everyone's works are looking great, I especially like the look of those multi-coloured tulips! Also love the Pooh and Eeyore and the Doctor Who one<3<3
Hope you are feeling better though I can only imagine how unpleasant it must have been. 2 weeks is a long stay these days. Good to see you back0 -
Hi ladies.
To those of you going away I hope you have a nice time, to those of you already there I hope you are having a nice time and to those of you who have been away, Welcome Back!
Coxy. Very nice bookmark, lovely bright colours. Santa is great, made me smile!
Ems. Nice update, it's coming along nicely.
Keza. Well done on making star letter. Stay out of lurkdom, you might enjoy it
nmm. Lovely update, can just see the beginnings of a pair of peepers!
Whyohwhy. Welcome! Look forward to seeing updates once you have the fabric and get started
Voucher. Welcome to you too!
Pennib. Very nice Tomato design, mount sets it off perfectly. Reminds me I have this design in my stash http://www.123stitch.com/item/Design-Works-Gourmet-ABC-Counted-Cross-Stitch-Kit/DW2426
Now my new kitchen is all finished I really should get it stitched, framed and up on the wall in there.
Mags. Nice update. How many 'rows' is there to do?
Soulie. I was just thinking about you the other day, wondering how your chemo was going. Sorry to hear you have been in hospital and I hope you continue to feel better.
Winnie. Sorry that you have hurt yourself, hopefully by now you have started to feel better and in less pain.
JCS. Lovely update on Tulips, they are looking fab!
As for me. Santa & Snowman is coming along nicely, just snowmans colourful scarf, some small black areas and then the backstitch left to do. Though at the slow rate I stitch I'll still be at it in a few weeks.
I'll try and remember to take an update pic tomorrow.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
shelly. Love your kitchen gourmet design. I like to stitch designs that are split into sections like this as I get a sense of achievement when each part is done Looking toward to seeing your snowman finished but don't like to think about the real thing especially on a lovely day like today
pennib. Tomato piece is lovely and looks great framed
coxy. I wasn't sure about the birds design when I saw it in the mag but love the way it has turned out for you
Well done on the beads. I love the effect of beads on xs but don't enjoy stitching them
keza. Another cafe member in print. Well done. And your sampler is lovely.
magscat. Brilliant update. Great progress
jcs. The tulips have stitched up really quickly and look stunning
mrsmp. Love the garden bench framed. Well worth all the trouble it caused you
Speaking of trouble. Have been piecing together the "upset". Seems a shame when it had nothing to do with xs ( or at least I don't think it did). Hope it hasn't driven away too many of the members and tht the lack of posts s due to the time of year
Apologies to those I've haven't mentioned By name0 -

Welcome to the Cafe Mrs ceejay
I'm stitching 12 Days from The Best of Margaret Sherry Book.
I had a quick lookie on eb@y and found just the patterns. These charts have been taken from Cross Stitcher Magazine I believe.
Hope these links are of some help to you.
I am thoroughly enjoying this project. At first I thought it was going to be quite daunting but breaking it up into each square make things seem better. Not really looking forward to the making of it up as I am not much good at 'normal sewing'.
Keep popping in and soon you will be able to show us what project you are doing - we're a right nosey bunch here.
Hope you manage to sort something out soon.

Thanks, I completely agree and know exactly what you mean! I have a few like this in my stash, lots of small designs that end up making one big one, I really like stitching them.
Hello to newbies, Mrs ceejay and scotty. You're both welcome and look forward to seeing your pics
As promised, an update from me though I had to charge the camera just enough to take a pic and upload it to my pc as it was flat as a pancake
Here's where I was 3 weeks ago,
and here's where I am today,:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
