Morning everyone,
pm2326 - your framed bird looks amazing, I agree that a thin coloured mount might enhance it, but looks really good as it is.
lottie - bluebells are coming along nicely
Mrs ceejay - I can't see the giraffe as I'm not a member of the Flickr group
nmm - nice update on leopard - love the colours
beg - the cushion is amazing - wish I felt confident with my sewing machine - I would certainly have a go at this.
A little progress on NY - think I just stitched the Empire State Building lol! Whilst sewing yesterday I managed to stab my finger with the fat, eye end of the needle - it went in about half a cm and hurt so bad! Hoping to do some more stitching after work today as ds2 is going for tea at a friends house so I'm 'free' until 6pm yay!

The colours are actually a lot richer in real life.

Last year Ailsb was kind enough to send me the chart for Henry VIII and his six wives. She asked that when I was finished with it that I pass it on in memory of her mum.
I am very conscious that I have had the chart for some time. I started stitching it, and was getting in well with it, but I was worried that I had miscalculated the size of fabric I needed so gave up intending to restart it.
Since then I have put my house up for sale and, just recently, moved into a new house and have had very little stitching time (although I still lurk on here to admire all your work). As I was so conscious if the amount of time I've had the chart I decided to order the kit, which I have done today, and pass the chart on as Ailsb requested.
Is there anyone on here who would like the chart? It is beautiful. Lovely vibrant colours. It is this one http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/Henry-VIII-Sampler-Cross-Stitch-Kit__DMC-K3403.aspx

HI everyone
Sorry I have not been about - been a bit busy, working in between two different establishments just now - but I have managed a wee bit of stitching in between.
Band 11 of the learning sampler is now done - turned out a bit of challenge as I still couldn't get the queens stitch right (tried on the twisted band sampler and my practise cloth) - so I created my own (created on the twisted) - ½ queens.
So here it is
Band 11
A close up
Thought an even more close up might help see all three stitches done in this band - outer edges ½ queens, working in Norwich stitch (I like this stitch - doesn't look good until you have done all parts of it) and then in the centre is crossed corner cushion stitches.
So we have now a couple more stitches of the stitch book
Crossed Corner Cushion Stitch
Norwich Stitch
Think I have already shared the queen stitches, so won't bore you with them again.
So will do my internet rounds now and might look out some threads for another project. Don't know if I will do stitching today - feeling a bit meh. Was at a coffee morning yesterday for the embroiders guild, think it took it out me a wee bit, as I usually have a long lie on a Saturday.
Nice work everyone - such diverse projects we all do.
Kind wishes,
