  • Hi everyone,

Haven't been on here in such a long while, life just seemed to get really busy.

Still stitching away, and at the minute I am working on Ink Circles, 99 Bottle of Beer. Will try and get some pictures uploaded to Flickr tomorrow....xx

Love your start on NY and have admired these charts on Etsy for a while but I am trying to stitch from stash not add to it :D I think Chicago is on the way in the series so you need to finish NY soon :rotfl:

Nooooo fos, don't tell me that lol!

    Lovely framed pieces JCS1 :)

nmm - I agree with others, maybe you need to adjust your seat. Good luck x

caroline78 - lovely to 'see' you! I was thinking of you over Christmas as I displayed your exchange piece you sent me Christmas 2013. Would love to see some pics of your latest stitching project.

Not much progress to report on NY as it was parents evening on Wednesday and didn't much feel like stitching last night. Hope to do a bit more this weekend.

Have a good day all - frosty here in Kent this morning. Hope you are all keeping safe and warm.

  • Evening everyone

    Hope you are all well.

Only bits of stitching time here over the last few days. Have been having a bit of a search online for a cross stitch card/chart that would be suitable to stitch for priest celebrating his golden jubilee. So far I have drawn a blank but came across this Lizzie Kate Design which I quite like but would be too large for card but if I made it into picture it would act as a gift too. I would have to convert the threads to dmc as the threads used are quite pricey and I would have a look to see what fabric I could use. Any advice would be much appreciated. Not needed until the summer so got plenty of time to have a think. :D

With any luck you will all find some stitchy time over the weekend.

Hope everything is ok with you sweetcarer - you have been so quiet. x

Hope all are well, love the photos and updates everyone has posted. Not had time to sort threads etc out for 100 years yet, as busy knitting blanket for expected 1st grandchild. I did manage a few stitches on Celtic Noel last night but that all.

I am ok been a bit of a lurker - been working away on my learning sampler about two-thirds of doing part 11 of 18. Will post picutre when I have done it. In it I am doing my ½ queens (still can't do the full queens right), norwich stitches and crossed corner stitches - so those will have to be added to my wee stitch book. Yes, it is still going strong - have to start a new book as the one I got only took 25 pages - just as well I bought two at the time :)

Other stitchy news ... I am about to start a new stitch - America land that we love (some of you might remember my OH is American). It is by Jean Farish. I am part of a FB stitch along for it. Typical I didn't have a big enough piece of material for it - so I ordered some from Katz (they managed to cut a piece I needed) it arrived quick ordered Friday came Saturday. Typical bit - I was at the Embroiders guild meeting on Wednesday and they were selling some stitching stuff that was donated to the charity shop but the charity shop thought it best come to the group for sale as they might get a better sale. And you guessed it they had a bit of material I was looking for! Oh well its for charity so I bought it anyway - wish I had more money with me as they had a lot of material.

    brvbarbrvbarlaquobrvbarbrvbarG_zps5oaxbhy7.jpg

I downloaded the pattern years ago and Jean Farish appeared one of the FB groups I belong to - so the SAL was born - now I have to look through my thread stash and see what I have. Shouldn't be to bad a pattern, doing on aida 14hpi as I have been assured it is all cross stitch. She does have an etsy shop and pattern is only selling at approx £7.

Talking of the EmbGuild, we are having an exhibition from May-June and were looking for some work - so I am putting in 7 of my pieces - floral alphabet, winter sampler, spring sampler, summer sampler, autumn sampler, purplework 1, purplework 2 and of course the twisted band. I have to find frames for some of these - so I think a trip to Ikea is coming up.

But for a special treat I am taking my twisted band to a framer. One of the girls in the group recommended one that stretches and laces. I know I can do it maybe myself but this is such a special
stitch I want to get it right.

I have also been working away on my herb alphabet at work - and because it is at work no photos (not allowed cameras or phones in my work) - so you will have to wait till the end to see it. But I have completed letter A.

What else have I been up to - only made a cake for my Dad for his 80th birthday

On the front (with his name like he did - when I went to the sweet shop to get the alphabet sweets they sold me just the letters I needed)

Sorry if this is intruding in the stitch group - I will remove it if you like.

Wow, what a long post - sorry. Hope everyone is well. Nice to see what you are all up to - nice to see you back Ruth and stitching again. Like the wee landmark series but don't think I would do any - got so much planned :)

Right off to update my journal, check in on FB and then maybe look to see what threads I have for America, and then stitching for me - work away on my learning sampler.

Keep well, catch you all soon,

    sweetcarer ;)

Love the cake! Looks very tasty. Is that a pin up duvet cover in the background? If so, I have a Christmas pin up set that I bought just before Christmas last year. I know it won't be on the bed for that long, but I couldn't resist it.

I have done some more stitching at the craft group on Friday. Soon I'll be on to the beading bit. Been a loooong time since I did any beading.

Put away some Christmas decs in the garage earlier (yes, I know it's a month after, but it's a mission to get to the wardrobe in the garage where it lives!) and found lots of frames in there that I'd totally forgotten that I had. Should have an ironing and framing session and get some work hanging up on the walls.

Yes it is Ruth - got it from A$da. It was inspired from a picture I have - I had it original as a avatar years ago when MSN messenger but managed to find the print of it and it now hangs in my wall - here is the avatar picture

    rosehips.jpg

It is by an artist called Olivia De Berardinis - and is called Rosehips. I just love some of her work - be warned some of its a bit risky.

In Eastenders they have a picture of playing cards of pinups - I wonder where they got it.

Cake was nice - just plain sponge, butter icing and sweets.

That's where mine was from too. Love pin ups. There was some lovely charts on Celtic Needlecraft with some gorgeous designs. I wanted to stitch loads of them but they're quite detailed and would take ages. And then it's where to hang them...I'm running out of wall space!

I'll look out for the playing card picture in Eastenders. I remember they had old football cards framed up-maybe when Alfie was landlord.

Right, time to dish up the roast...nom nom nom...
