Wow sweetcarer - what a lovely long post. Don't you dare remove those pics. We love pics in the Cafe remember
You have been so busy so I can understand how you have not been posting so often. Great to see you are enjoying the Embroiderers Guild. Your work always looks so neat so I bet you fit in really well. Your Dad's cake looks absolutely lovely - you have many talents. Looking forward to seeing your American updates when you get started - it looks full of detail. Take care of yourself. x
Lovely to see you back in the Cafe Ruth and stitching. Looking forward to seeing your pics too. I am sure I have seen a cross stitch pic similar to the pin up just over the last couple of days not that I am trying to add to anyone's stash you understand.I'm running out of wall space too Ruth - that's why Keep Calm is being made into cushion - another couple of weeks and I should be done with that hopefully.
Will wait with baited breath pm for your update next week. Good luck with the framing.
No stitching here again today - I had intended to take it to Mum's this morning but the next bit is backstitch and whilst it is not difficult I would have to concentrate a bit more and I thought it would seem rude. The rest of the day has been filled with housework, sorting some stuff for fleabay and a walk to Mum's this afternoon. I have stuff ending this evening on fleabay so if it gets paid for, I will get it sorted for posting tomorrow morning - so no stitching tonight either.
Take care everyone,

Morning all,
beg - love the Lizzie Kate design
sweetcarer - the cake is amazing! The America design is lovely. I expect it will be really satisfying to stitch as it's in squares - that's my kind of design lol!

:shhh::shhh: DH tipped me off last night that Lizzie Kate chart has been ordered by DS for my birthday next week. Pondering over the threads now - is there much difference in appearance of the Weeks Dyed one and converted to DMC/Anchor ones? DH said that he really liked the picture I was doing as a present and said that if I changed my mind he would quite like it in our home
. Trying to convince myself that if I am doing the picture twice, then perhaps I can justify the Weeks Dyed Threads. I have quite a few DMC and Anchor and it just seems naughty to buy more. Martin :money: is on tv atm so perhaps the vibes are coming through
Oh DH said there were quite a few LK's he liked - fancy that
Love your new project pm.
NY is coming along really quickly Coxy.
I would like to add 100 years to my 'maybe one day' lists.Looking forward to seeing update of Celtic Noel.

Weeks Dye works threads can be quite different. It depends on the colour. Some you can tell that they are hand dyed, others it really doesn't matter. I've used them quite a bit and sometimes if I don't have the correct colour, I just use the DMC equivalent. Let me read back and see which chart you're doing...
ETA-Time for God? Actually looking at the pictures of threads on the Sew & So page does let you see which threads show the colour changes (sea foam, chestnut, moss and whiskey). But, looking at the chart, I really don't think you *need* to use the hand dyed threads at all. It's pretty much all lettering and some tiny detailing that the colour change in the threads may not even show on. So if it was me stitching it, I would just use DMC.
Hope that helps.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

JCS1 your framed work is gorgeous, I especially like the cat
Coxy11 your piece is coming on well, I love the design of it
PM2326 lovely piece to do, can't wait to see it as you're working on it
Sweetcarer, have you stitched any pin-ups? I've bought a few kits to do but I find it difficult to find things to stitch and display that the OH will like to! But I can't go wrong with a pin up?Here's my update on my Mum's bluebells, I'm enjoying it more now that it's taking shape, they always look so much better in the flesh.250115 by CharlotteGurney, on Flickr

Thanks for that info Ruth - I really appreciate it. Think I will stick to the DMC and probably if I buy a chunk of fabric - I think it might be a fat quarter - there will be sufficient to do two pictures.
Oh well, lunch is over, washing on line (don't know how long for) now I need a trip to shops. No stitching today so far, but maybe squeeze in a little bit before SW.

Lovely updates everyone
I got my floor frame yesterday and set it up, its huge, lol. Anyway used it for the first time today and I hate it
Its so awkward to use and I got a pain in my back from leaning over. I guess I need to look at a bigger R&R frame or the lap frame everyone uses, so gutted as I really hoped it would be good for my large projects.
I finished another heirloom square, so on to the final one. I need to pick it back up as I've been preferencing my reading instead.0
