If you don't mind popping it up that would be great, computer has been playing up and we had to buy a new one and then that one didn't work, so I've spent ages trying to get that one to work, any how, enough of all that. If you could I would be very greatful :-( thanks, ps all the kids love your card :-D
In other news still not found any time to sew apart from my 2 exchange cards.
Not sure if I shared, but grandad passed away towards the end of October, we are still sorting out his house, he was a horder, found 5 antique sewing machines! Hoping it will be finished soon and we can begin to get some closure.
I'm also nearing the end of my course, so I'm hoping that in the new year i will be able to get back to some actual sewing!
Sorry to hear of your loss.
Do you have to take an exam or just complete the course?
Here's to a stitchy 2015 for you:)0 -

Decided I was done with stitching Crimbo stuff ,so on Friday started a tatty ted kit that has been waitin years to be done, got about 50 ish stitches done.
Been to see mother on sat,who had been rushed in to hospital, got home sat ,5 o clockwish, stress levels off the scale
The care home telling us one thing, all lies, they hadn't bin monitoring her diabetes ,it was off the scale, hospital went mad at her condition.
Decide to make my self a proper latte and do some sewing,
Sat down with coffee and managed to spilt the whole cup all over my sewing, pattern, cottons the whole shebang,
The next half hour was spent trying to clean me and stitching up,washed the stitching then decided to iron it dry.
Switched steam iron on,which promptly blew up and splayed brown water everywhere,by now I was crying, hubby walked in asked how my day had gone.i couldn't speak!
This morning washed a white wash, put it out under car port, then decided to put bath towels out as well, promptly the line broken, all washing on floor!
Now lying down in dark room, what else can go wrong!
Oh no. Hope things have improved since0 -

Tried to get on yesterday after going to the shops but somehow it not playing with me.
Anyway, yesterday was cold and wet and I wasn't in the mood for anything and I knew I had to go to the shops and all I wanted to do was stay warm and stitch - also feeling quite emotional - really hitting me that Mum won't be there for Christmas.
So postman pat comes by with a parcel for me - couldn't think why, hadn't ordered anything. Open it up and it was from Mrs Moneypenny.
To say it made my day, is an understatement - it made me weep that someone was so kind to me make it for me.
Thank you Mrs Moneypenny and thank you to your son for his choice (hope santa is good to him - I will let him know when I see him).
My twisted band is nearly finished. Just 3 bands to go. Then I will personalise it with a message "Stitched in memory of my Mum - Betty G*** - 1943-2014 - remembered with love x." The remembered with love is on her headstone and I suggested it. It might not be exactly that wording I put on the stitch but close to it. One of the girls said there is a shop that stretches and laces stitching to frame, so might get it professionally done as it is such a special one and I don't want to muck it up.
Was going to make a lentil dish this afternoon for dinner with some nice venison sausages I got but noticed I have no lentils - so will have to go out - grrrrrr.
Keep well everyone, and keep warm.
Kind wishes to all,
sweetcarer
Beautiful piece from mrsmp. Your choice of finishing the band sampler will be lovely.
This Christmas will be tough "firsts" without a loved one are hard.0 -
Afternoon folks, hope you're all staying safe & warm today
some lovely stitching going on, loving the exchange pieces, wishing I had joined in again this year
sweetcarer, this time of year is difficult for me too, my dad passed in the first week of Jan 2013 and the last time I saw or spoke to him was new years day...its tough and emotional but I just have a cry when I need to, sod anyone else, and believe me having stitching at hand to take your mind of it really does help
last year I didn't have any interest in the festive season so I'm trying to make a bit of an effort this year, hence the xmas stitching...still struggling though
anyway here's my latest update, looks a bit wonky as had to unroll it from frame to take pic. Next update will be the finished piece and then I'll put me tree up to go with it2014-12-07 13.51.48 by
Beautiful and I'm sure it will look great with your decorations0 -

Not sure how well you can see that it includes lovely sparkly thread with the white
And this is what I stitched for MaisieMStitched by FOS for MaisieM by stitchwitchhazel, on Flickr
Quite a coincidence that we both went for a single colour though the designs are quite different
I've loved every single one that has been stitched and sent0 -

Hello ladies, big hugs to those that need them. Hope things have improved for all since.
I do have some updates for you:
The 'alternative' stitch I'm doing at mum's house (though I didn't do any last time like I said I was going to. Challenging myself on this one, by using one length of thread of each colour, which is why it looks a bit sporadic.20141206_170035 by kezbabybabe, on Flickr
Here is crochet teddy too, he just need a bit of Black yarn to make his nose and smile:10844710_10152415064786971_747022310_o by kezbabybabe, on Flickr
I've also used DMC's floss card holders to create these for our wedding and engagement cards:20141206_100640 by kezbabybabe, on Flickr
Now this has left me with a lot of spare floss cards, as I only wanted the rings, so if any of you lovely ladies are after some to put your floss on to then send me a PM. Here's the information: http://www.sewandso.co.uk/products/dmc-plastic-floss-bobbins-with-metal-ring__dmc-6105-fslsh-12.aspx
I have 112 in total, so let me know how many you want and your address and I'll post them out (at no cost).0 -
beg - glad it arrived safely and you like it.
FOS - thank you ever so much for posting a pic of your card to me. It is beautiful and I have taken a photo but just not had a chance to post it up as I have been laid up with a bad chest infection which makes me feel like I have hot rods poking in my chest.
All the xmas exchange makes are really fab and it is great seeing them all.0
