moments_of_sanity, yes its the first KK I've done, I fell in love with BD as have some of you But I couldn't justify the £50 for the kit, so I did another project. Then I found BD as a chart and managed to get all the stuff for about £20, I think I waited almost 2 years drooling at him :rotfl:

Evening all!

I'm finally de lurking myself! You guys have inspired me to start cross stitching. I've had a few failed attempts I'm afraid! It's the back stitching (Edging?) that gets me. It all goes so well up until then! So for the moment, I'm going to stick with designs that don't use it. Simply does it! I've completed a project and framed it for a 70th anniversary, it's no where near as good as you all make, but if I keep practicing, then one day..... I'm going to work out how to post a pic then you lot can give me tips

The pictures over this thread are amazing, sleeping beauty was truly magnificent!

Lol, we all hate back stitch! The Heaven and Earth design I am doing doesn't have any and I am so pleased :rotfl:

I have finished a hedgehog that was in a recent issue of collection which will be made into a birth sampler for a cousin's baby that is due just before Xmas and I'm doing the bookmark free gift from cross stitcher now for dd, hope to have that finished today will post pics later

Welcome to the Cafe CoffeeandStitches :hello:. I don't think there are many fans of backstitching in the Cafe but once you've mastered it, it does make the design 'pop out' if that makes sense. Incidentally even though Sleeping Beauty was huge, the only backstitching was on her eye . Keep popping in to say hello and once you've reached a certain number of posts you will be able to show us your pics. I am pretty sure there are details on the first pages of the thread of how the post pics but if you get stuck, there will be someone who will be able to help you out. Good luck.

Just wondering if I have time to backstitch/french knots a couple of goose eggs before I have to leave at 12 to take friend for hospital appt? Lets see .............

Hi Girls,

Just popping on during my lunch break and remembered I had something to tell you.

If you have any squares for the Sandy Hook quilts - they are looking for them before 20th August.

I will be sending mine soon - need to iron them first - washed them all last weekend but didn't get round to ironing them. Need to be in the mood for ironing.

Working away on my wee teddy birth samplers - might have photos at weekend to show you plus final pictures of my Sandy Hook squares.
