Morning everyone, I have just realised that it is my Nan's 90 birthday coming up. I am looking for a sampler or something to stitch for her. Has anyone seen anything nice? thanks

Not sure if you've decided yet but here are a few suggestions:

This is actually for an 80th birthday but would be easy to change

These are month rather than age specific

I love this one but again it doesn't include the age

Very quick and easy and could have the age added

This is a lovely kit of a mini cushion which includes all numbers so you can stitch 90

Years ago I stitched a lovely but simple piece which said 19..(year of birth) was a very special year. There was a flower on it - I think a poppy. The designer was Jane Greenoff but I haven't been able to find the design :(

Do share what you finally choose :D

I have discovered (via Pinterest) a fabulous French site called Jardin Prive which has a delightful free chart which is available in French , English, Spanish, Italian and German.

I absolutely love it and it has been added to my to do list - I'm thinking of stitching the French and English versions side by side.

There are some other nice free charts on the site, some gorgeous variegated threads and lots of other charts to buy (by download so no postage).

Like mrsceejay says - there just aren't enough hours in the day (or days in the week, or weeks in the year or years in a lifetime) to stitch everything I want to do but I still keep trying :D

fos - love elegant ladies and LK stitch :T Will have to 'investigate' Jardin Prive :D

coxy - daisy girl is so sweet.

jcs1 - great work on tractor.

mrs ceejay - looking forward to seeing your geisha one day ;). This is the second kit I've had from China and have been quite pleased with them. Only changed fabric this time as there was so much showing but didn't bother with Sleeping Beauty as it was all covered with stitching.

pm - here's a pic of the red tree

Only a little bit of red tree done this morning. Antibiotics starting to kick in but I just feel so lethargic. :(

    Take care everyone

ooooh wow.....now I'm thinking this would look good in my kitchen, which is red, cream and grey but I don't have time to do it though :(

On a better note, I managed an hour and a half stitching last night :T

Hi everyone, I have been reading just not posting, lovely work and updates I love all the photos, especially the red tree and sweetcarers band sampler. I am on the mend after my weird allergy rash, I needed steroids to get rid of it, but its gone now and I can finally sleep again, only i'm left with a dry nose, corners of my eyes and mouth. Hopefully it'll all go soon and I can feel normal :p On the plus side I finished Floral Cat :j It took a whopping 6 hours to do all the BABS and French knots, I think that's my share for the year :rotfl:

b_e_g - red tree is stunning, really different. Hope you start to feel better soon.

nmm - floral cat looks lovely. It's amazing the difference bs makes yet we all seem to moan about it. :D

Ayeshalush - feeling a bit better today thanks. Only hope the dr is happy tomorrow with the way the antibiotics are working otherwise he is talking of me going to hospital to get them iv - don't fancy that really.

No stitching for me since yesterday morning. Just cleaned fridge out before it gets restocked tomorrow. Where do all the bits come from in the veg/salad drawer?

DH has just got weedkiller on lawns and is now preparing lunch - jacket potato with prawns and salad - so very SW friendly :p

Some big nasty black clouds are working their way over so will have to keep an eye out as I have a line of washing out.

    Take care everyone,

jcs Tractor looks great - really good progress

coxy Love the Daisy Girl - I stitched one of the cute girls in this series a few years ago - I think it was the one on the beach picking up seashells. The 3 together would make a beautiful display

beg Hope you manage to avoid the hospital visit though if that's what it takes to get you back on your feet it might be worth it. They certainly won't keep you in longer than necessary - was listening to some horror stories on the radio at lunchtime about elderly people being discharged to empty homes when they are not capable of looking after themselves (e.g. on crutches after hip op).

    Love The Red Tree design

nmm well done on the BABS and French knots - I'm not a fan either but the effect they have had on your finished piece is stunning. They really make it come alive

Hope you feel completely better soon

ayeshalush At least my latest "share" is a free chart. I've just spotted something else I would like to add to my to do list but as it involves buying a kit I [STRIKE]will [/STRIKE] may wait for a while
