Hello Girls,
Got another enforced holiday (Monday is the enforced one, but I was off yesterday (personal reasons) and thought it would be daft to go back for one day), so I have time off, so time to dawdle about the internet and maybe even some stitching.Thought I share my latest update in the twisted band sampler -
Part Two
Close up of part two's specialty stitches, herringbone, smyrna and round eyelet stitches.
Feeling really low - yesterday I was off but went to a lunch with my department as someone was leaving. First comment my boss says "your not meant to be here" - he had made the joke last week about that - no one told me about the event when I found out and asked I got told "someone needs to be at work" but everyone else was going to the lunch - it has become a tradition at my work that when someone leaves, we all go for a lunch. During the lunch no one talked to me - just felt so sad, lonely and alone - wish I hadn't went - could of saved my money for something nicer.
Oh well, better get on, sorry for my moan.
Kind wishes to all

aww sweetcarer, that is just so horrible and insensitive, how could anyone be so mean as to say something like that to a colleague and then for on one to speak, sorry but im tearful on your behalf. You are too nice to work with people like that!
i love the twisted band you are stitching it looks so beautiful and neat.
Coxy your silver anni sampler is lovely, im sure it will be really appreciated.SPC~12 ot 124

fos - I have plenty of threads left over so a scissor fob is a great idea. Will add it to my to do list. Had a quick look at the JustnAN Website but couldn't linger or I would have ended up buying something and have plenty to be getting on with just now, but I will def be purchasing in the future.
Coxy11 - your silver anniversary piece is beautiful.
b_e_g - sorry to hear you are not sleeping well. I was having the same problem until I downloaded a sleep analysing app to my phone and I use it all the time now 1)beaause the alarm starts much gentler than my old alarm clock and 2) because you can set it to play a relaxing sound of your choice (mine is a babbling brook) for 15 mins when you settle down to sleep. I really do think the sound relaxes me and I'm now getting ti the point where my brain is conditioned to switch off and sleep when it hears that sound (Let's just hope Radio never play a babbling brook sound as I'm driving home from work lol!!). The app is Sleep Time by Azumio, it may be the paid version that has the relaxing sounds but I think it only cost me a pound or two. Could be worth a try.
sweetcarer - the sampler is already looking lovely. Sorry to hear you're having a horrible time with your colleagues. Work plays such a major role in most of our lives that it is just awful when it is not going well. I hope youmanage to put it out of your mind and relax and enjoy your few days off.
Got half of my threads wound onto bobbins last night, so hopefully I'll get the rest done tonight ready to start stitching tomorrow.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Thank you Hippipal, the photos are a big help. That's what I thought you meant but it's clearer in my head now how to go about it.
Thanks again.

Not entirely sure, here is the 'original' design: http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/ef/02/c1/ef02c1abd6fc30fb7315476b057dba12.jpg
Doesn't seem that large all in all. Bit bigger than my usuals though.
Can I ask where you got these patterns from please, they look great and I'd love to stitch one.
Well lots of posts since I was last on!!!!! All the updates look fantastic wish I was as good as you all.
I've just started on a project so I'll post a picture later or tomorrow.
Hope everyone is having as nice weekend0 -
Just having a quick catch up.
Sweetcarer hugs honey, some people just should not be managers IMHO. That is a despicable thing to say to anyone, regardless as to whether or not the office should be covered and if it does then it should be on a shared rota. Sorry but I am absolutely outraged by their actions on your behalf. On a more positive not your twisted band sampler looks amazing. It's so inspiring to see the different stitches being used. Have a lovely weekend.
Ayeshalush hope you enjoy stitching Henry, the finished piece is lovely. Your finished needlecase is really pretty.
coxy love the anniversary sampler beautifully set off on the linen. I really like your next project too.
Mrs TM my DS1 would love the mario pattern too but I am not showing it to him as I need to do some for DS2 room first.
Managed some stitching today. A small pattern for one of my boxes I am trying to do. They don't take very long at all so I may do another tonight then just the boxes to decoupage which will be interesting as I have never done that before!0
