He would love my monster stitch then! I call it that because I've been working on it on and off for the past year and a half... :o

I finally finished the green tree last weekend though!

They are fab!! Will need to make sure he doesn't see this or I'll be stitching Mario cross stitches for evermore lol!! I crocheted a Mario for him (see here, this is the pattern I used http://wolfdreamer-oth.blogspot.co.uk/2009/08/mario-plushie.html ) and he wanted a Luigi too but thankfully I dissuaded him, the crocheting was ok it was the sewing up I couldn't face...too fiddly. I could never be a toy maker lol.

That looks slightly like the Doctor Who and Star Trek dolls that I've made in the past! Crocheted of course. My poor fingers hate the acrylic yarn here though, I miss being able to afford nice sheeps wool yarn. Oh well, maybe in the future. :)

Finally finished my needle case. Don't think I left enough space between the 2 pieces of card as it won't sit closed completely. Will maybe put a fastener on it.

Now what to do? Should I start another small project or just wait until my threads arrive, although that could be another week, to start Henry. Decisions, decisions! Should prob just hang fire starting anything else as I have plenty of other craft projects I should be getting on with.

    Your needlecase is lovely

Do you have any fabric and thread left to make a small matching scissor fob?

I can definitely recommend Just Nan band samplers if you are looking for something which isn't just cross stitch. Her diagrams and instructions for other stitches are very clear and easy to understand. In general her designs won't work very well on aida - they need evenweave or linen. https://www.justnan.com

Mind you Henry and his 6 wives will keep you busy for a while :D

    Hi everyone,

Thank you for your comments on my latest project. I love working on linen and really like this design. I did a bit more last night and hope to finish it sometime next week. Will take it to be professionally framed as it's a gift.

Big Bird - the lilies look lovely

Annie021063 - your design is really coming on

fos - nice sparkly navy fabric - is it difficult to stitch on? If I Stitch looks great framed up. I took a look at the Just Nan designs. They are lovely, must resist......

nmm - nice start to floral cat

Ayeshalush - the needlecase looks great

Ailsb - you have been busy - pictures please :-)

    shelly - lovely update

sweetcarer - nice start to the twisted band sampler. The learning sampler is looking fab.

Emily926 - very pretty wedding sampler

JCS1 - farm design looking good

pm2326 - I love the progress on Elvis.

Have been having a rummage and think I'm going to do a 'word' design next. Don't often do designs with words in (just personal preference, nothing weird!) Anyway, I will post a pic in the next post, but let's just say, it was the broad bean button that did it for me!!!

    Have a good day all
    Coxy

I have to admit that the navy evenweave is proving to be quite challenging. I have stitched on dark fabric before but the last piece I did was on navy aida and I am beginning to wish I'd bought aida instead of evenweave for this sampler. The heart sampler I finished a few weeks ago was on 32 count linen and that was much easier than this 28 count evenweave. Will see how I get on at the weekend in daylight and decide what to do .....

Love your latest design and the broad beans (peapod?) button is just too cute to resist.

Just Nan samplers are delightful to stitch especially if you want something other than just cross stitch - her instructions for other stitches are very clear and easy to follow

Just finished the main design, have to add the names and date but not sure if the recipients are on here! Will do those next week and then take to the framers.

b_e_g. - Hope you get a good nights sleep and feel more like stitching tomorrow. The red tree has me intrigued. Looking forward to your photo.

Hip pipal - I think I know what you mean but it would be great if you could post a photo. Thanks.

Keep waking up through night Ali - quality of sleep not too good atm and then I don't want to get up when the alarm goes off. Woke up around 5am this morning (was reading till 2 am) so I tossed and turned then decided to get up and have a soak in the bath.

Still not managed a pic of 'red tree' so I am keeping you in suspense a bit longer. :D Picked up blue frame from Ikea yesterday for the sheep pic so hopefully I will manage some time over the weekend to get caught up.

    Enjoy the long weekend everyone
