  • Nmm - glad your leg is on the mend, maybe you need to keep it elevated and take your mind off of it with some stitching for a while longer though :D

Coxy - I have looked at that design so many times and been tempted but don't think I could cope with the back stitch and French knots, you must have the patience of a saint!

DD's go back to school tomorrow, however, as they are both in 6th form they keep popping back at odd times but hoping to get a couple of hours stitching in before lunch time tomorrow. We are away for a few days over the Bank Holiday weekend, just DH and me so need to find something smallish to take away that I can stitch, sure I must have something in my stash :rotfl:

Is anyone watching Jamaica Inn? I watched it last night and was completely lost by it all, DD has just said the same to me about it but DH seems to 'get it', maybe I am just brain dead this time of an evening!

Evening ladies, im just popping in to ask opinions, I hope nobody minds, I know I don't really contribute as much as I should!! lovely pieces everyone and I love your stockings coxy.
nmm- I think you need to rest that leg a little longer lol

So im doing the below Bella and boo she will be the 5th one I have done but will be 4th and the winter one to go up in my daughters newly decorated bedroom (she already has up spring, summer and autumn she is just waiting for me to finish this one!)

any how my question is the white running across the bottom, goes all the way across and is that deep, it also has snow falling and snow on the characters which are all full stitches. so do you think it would look odd if the falling snow and snow on the characters were full stitiches and the snow on the floor was half stitiches. the white on white is already driving me made and I don't want to start hating the piece as those of you who know me know I have a soft spot for Bella. so opinions please and I will go with majority

The bridesmaids will be in midnight blue so I'm stitching it in navy Evenweave with silver sparkles and will change the real green for blue

Love the finished stitch and the wedding sampler will be great on the sparkly even weave. I love the colours you have chosen.

There's a thread gremlin in my house  I've lost 2 colours!

I have the full set in a box and when I went to get 2 of the colours for Elvis they're missing...I always replace them once I've finished using them...cant even think what project I may have used these colours on...I have 2 other projects on the go and checked both of them and the colours aren't there and I've even checked my 'spares' tin and I don't have any in there!!!!!!!!!!!!! arrggghhhh

I've ended up having to order replacements as no-where around here sells DMC threads anymore since the little needlecraft shop closed down :(

Oh no! I hate it when I misplace/run out of colours esp when making progress! Elvis is looking good :)

Well done b_e_g, that first step is always the hardest. The SW thread on MSE is helpful and there are lots on FB.
I love your little owls MRS_t_m

Head is done! This design is so much cuter than I anticipated! Annoying due to all of the tans/browns, but very cute.

I think half cross stitch would be fine or possibly a mixture of both?

Mainly half stitch with a few full crosses sprinkled about.

Haven't posted since before my holiday but have been keeping up with everyone. Not a lot of stitching done the last couple of weeks as I've been busy baby knitting for a friend.

May is a busy month too as my brother and his fiancee arrive from Oz next Friday for three weeks and DS is getting married on 7th May. I'm sure I'll find a little bit of stitchy time though :)

Lovely pics Mrs M- particularly the squares. I must make an effort and become more adventurous and use different stitches.

Hi maria - as long as you pop in whenever you can that's the main thing :D I would do half cross stitches with full ones dotted about here and there. hth

Have made a start on a kit I got from China - quite big but not many colours. Will post a pic at weekend.

    Take care everyone

  • No stitching for me yesterday and not looking hopeful for today as my Dad brought over a couple of shirts for me to use in patchwork so am sitting unpicking them instead.

Hoping to search my stash for something to take away with me for our long weekend, will try having a rummage today :D
