Might wait until I go to Ikea as I like some of their coloured frames unless I come across anything in the meantime.

Has anyone used stamped aida? Looking for a larger project for later in the year and I have come across on and it uses stamped aida and also has a coloured chart to go with it. Just wondered what it would be like to use.

Also just realised that the April WOCS will be the last of my 5 for £5 so I had a quick google and couldn't find any more of these offers for this mag. If anyone comes across one please give me a shout :D.

Thinking about what to stitch next - might do a couple of the free cards that have come with the recent mags (butterflies and cat in a flowerpot?) as they might come in handy in case I have forgotten anyone's birthday or need a thank you card.

Enjoy what's left of the weekend everyone.

Wow that was speedy stitching :T It looks fab and I agree a coloured frame might be attractive.

Here is a link to an offer for WOCS

If it doesn't work as a link it was an ad on the magazine's own site which is cross-stitching.com

I've never used stamped aida though I have stitched needlepoint designs (usually using wool) which were printed onto the canvas. I would be concerned about the accuracy of the printing as with the canvas pieces I've done there were always areas where you had to decide which colour to use as the printing covered more than one hole (IYSWIM)

Like flowerofscotland I have done tapestry which uses printed canvas, and it works(big holes and wool) but on crosstitch it has always put me off as it's smaller and i'am not that confident to pick the right colours,at least with crosstitch the half stitches are printed.
But don't be put off,it will be interesting to see your take on how to do it.
Those sheep are great, really colourful,is it a gift for someone if so they will love it!
Still coughing for England,it won't go away,o.k in day time but as soon as I go to bed,it's cough cough all night long,OHs patience is running out don't blame him so is mine!
    Have a good week everyone.
  • About 40% of the population (including me) are introverts and although that doesn't mean we are all the same we do share various (very positive) characteristics. If you enter Introvert into the search on Amazon there are lots of great books on the subject.

However for introverted crafters there is nothing I can recommend that is better than joining some kind of crafting group. Whether it is cross stitch, card making, quilting, knitting, crochet or "anything goes" most crafters love to share their passion with others and every group I have ever been involved with has been very welcoming to newbies.

Cross Stitch Crazy used to publish lists of cross stitch clubs but now has them online Local libraries are often a good resource as are stitching / craft shops. If patchwork and quilting is your thing try The Quilters Guild and search for activities in your area.

Not that there is anything wrong with enjoying your own company but most people like a bit of variety.

Will step down from my soap box now :D

Oh and I finished my Heart Wedding Sampler on Saturday. I won't post a photo just yet as the recipients are MSE's and it's supposed to be a surprise.

I then started a chart I have had in my stash for years called If I Stitch Fast You can see the design here

i did one a few years ago for my mum it was a window printed on the fabric and you stitched things like the flowers in a vase and a shell on the sill that were left blank i remember that i had to do a few extra stitches around the edge of the stitched areas as like fos says the line doesnt always match. the killer whale i did for my dad was also a printed background and a blank to stitch the killer whale again the edges didnt quite work so needed a bit of tweaking. i think both the ones i did were evenweave rather than adia

editted just remembered the 'window one wasnt all cros stitched it had satin stitch and chain stitch in as well.
ive done a couple of tapestry ones they work well but were the wool on canvas type

its just started lashing it down here.

ravinerpal, welcome but i think youve strayed onto the wrong thread this is cross stitching not beading. also all your 4 mse posts so far seem to have been leading up to you advertising the company you have as your homepage i dont think that is allowed so if you want to post about jewellery making you can in the right threads but dont just try and promote your business or you may get posts deleted.

You've reminded me - I have done a couple of pieces where the background was printed and you stitched just part of the design. Like you I had to make a couple of adjustments but they were easy to do.

We've got really heavy rain as well and the forecast says it is here for a few days (just as the school holidays start :( )

JCS Looks so cute with the kitty just emerging. Love the colours of the box

Have been really good and have looked out 'let's do wine' as I am not doing anything else until I have finished that. Those dam grapes will get done if it's the last thing I do lol.

Going to have a quick catch up now before I start doing tea.
