I have been wanting to stitch a wedding sampler and matching birth samplers for a while but can't decide on a design. I have narrowed it down to two designers; Historical Sampler and tatty teddy. What are people's thoughts?

    This wedding sampler
    http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/Bird-and-Heart-Wedding-Sampler__HIS-BirdandHeart-spc-wedding.aspx

With this or similar birth sampler

Or do I go with the tatty teddy designs

    And this birth sampler

As soon as I decide I can get started :D

I am a massive tatty teddy fan and my oldest had the birth sampler stitched for her by a very good friend but I have to say I like your first choices of birth and wedding samplers. I guess it all depends if they are tatty teddy fans!
Hoping that you escape soon Louise and that they can get you sorted.
So sorry T-M for your loss can't begin to imagine what you have gone through, thoughts are with you.
To Sweetcarer, thoughts are with you too on the loss of your mum.

First of all, condolences and love to Mrs TM and family for your loss, I can't imagine what emotions you are going through.

Best wishes for Louise - hope you are soon back in full stitching mode.

Congrats on all the lovely works of art posted on here - I still haven't tried referring back to them all individually but promise to master it by Fri !

I have finished Jack Russell and I know it sounds very boastful but I really love him and enjoyed stitching him. It's only 7 x 5 inches but beautifully detailed, well done DMC for such a lovely kit.

    Here he is:

I started this one last night:

    https://www.crossstitchworld.com/cross-stitch-detail.php?RecordID=70-65116

I'm off to make Mum's lunch now. She is 90 and has a carer in the morning about 10am to get her up, washed and dressed and make her breakfast. Yesterday when I got there at lunchtime she was upset because the carer hadn't been.

Mum is diabetic and had injected her insulin just before 10am in readiness for her breakfast. 2 hours later and no food meant she was in danger of having a hypo - I had to give her something sugary quickly. Carer eventually turned up at 1.15pm. The carer's manager knows about Mum's diabetes. They just don't care. I got nowhere with my complaint - one member of staff called in sick and her clients were allotted to 2 others. I suppose these companies are run on a shoestring, due in part to insufficient council funding.

    Rant over !

    Have a good Monday everyone.

    EM xx

PS it's nice to see that Simon Cowell named his new son after my little moggie.
  • Jack looks lovely and the poppy kit youve chosen to do next is beautiful.
glad your mum is alright but shocking that the so called carers are so badly organised.

  • Was working on my vintage sampler this morning in my living room when i felt a drip - turns out we had a leak! Part of the roof was blown off on Friday but it wasn't felt to be an emergency as there was no leak. Credit to them though as when we phoned this morning they were out within quarter of an hour. Lost my stitchy mojo now though and got work in a little while so hey ho

Jack looks so cute. :T I love poppies. Looking forward to seeing your update pics of them.

So sorry to hear of the carry on your Mum has had with carers. Fortunately things were ok this time but could have turned out very differently. Hope they have things sorted out now.

  • Thanks for all your lovely comments on the dinosaurs, all ready to post to morrow.
I was all set to start on my leopard picture which I started last year but sort of lost my enthusiasm for when
The grandson arrived all excited, his Mum had found a Lego Spider-Man
    Crosstitch on eb*y for him.
So guess what I'm doing next!
    Emily926
The traditional ones are beautiful,I love tatty teds but they aren't everyone's cup of tea.
    Louise
Hope you are feeling better and out of hospital soon,
    Eric's mum
Your Jack Russell is is so lifelike,it's brilliant!
    B.e.g
I know just what you mean,my mum was supposed to be looked after by carerers but it was very hit and miss, never knew who would turn up,couldn't blame them too much as some of them were great, just over stretched, not enough money to go round for all their needs it seems.
    Mrs TM
My thoughts are with you at this sad time, our family went through this when myDIL lost a baby just a year ago, very sad.
    Kez
Great update,is thre much more to do?
