Hi,
Started new project,it's dinosaur ABC suggested by nmm long time ago in august, this is going to aussieland for my DILs two young nephews.
It has to be done before we go in February for DDs 40th birthday but I think that is wishful thinking as long as it's done for oldest birthday in august I'll be happy.
Maisie
Love the cards,it reminded me I have little penguin (a freebie) somewhere on the list to do which is getting longer by the minute.
Been to ald*e ,done the shopping!it didn't seem too busy but as I came out of store people were queuing to get in car park!so glad I had gone early!
Hope all your shopping gets done and not too stressful. X0 -
Hi all, sorry I haven't been about much. Every year I think of all the lovely Christmassy cross stitching I can do while watching festive things on tv in December but it never works out that way
I have spent 4 evenings now just wrapping gifts (and more to go!) we have loads of people, plus 3 kids to buy for so over 150 items needing wrapped.
I have managed to grab the odd half hour during the day to work on 'Mother and Child'...she would have been finished if I hadn't run out of DMC 3766  so I need to make a trip tomorrow and buy some. I WILL complete her tomorrow night!!
Hope everyone is okay, I need to have a catch up on posts. I've got 3 magazines sitting here unread as well.:oCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. What has everyone asked for xmas wise? I don't mean stitchy stuff - I just mean in general. I find it hard to pick stuff as usually if there is soemthing I want, I just buy it. I can't make up my mind whether to put any xmas money I might get towards a new gadget - the kindle paperwhite perhaps or if I get lots of pennies, plus using some of savings, upgrading my IPOD touch. or buying some new fangled kitchen gadget - a new mixer appeals!
There wasn't much I needed/wanted so I have asked for Glee season 3 and 4. when it moved to sky I couldn't see it anymore (same thing happened before with flippin 'Lost')- my dad was recording the episodes for me and got halfway through series 3 when he died, I couldn't bring myself to watch them, but decided to get the dvd sets and watch now.
I'm finding it a struggle to deal with the festivities as its the first xmas without my dad and in 3 weeks it'll be a year since he passed.
But if that wasn't bad enough one of my gorgeous cats was hit by a car on sunday and diedI'm devastated and can't stop crying. My other cat has become extra clingy and sits by the backdoor waiting for his sister to come home.
To put it bluntly I hate my life at the minute
I'll keep popping in too have a nosy at what your doing and will try to come on over xmas, however in the meantime I wish you all a merry xmas and hope your life is way better than mine xx
That was me last year, it isn't easy but you do get through it.Have you planned anything special? We all went to the cemetery on Christmas Day and just spent some time thinking about him, it was still very raw at the time. Sorry to hear about your cat as well, everything just sees to hit at once doesn't it (((hugs)))

Hi everyone, just popped on to let you know I'm still around but stitching Elvis isn't going to plan at the minute as life is dealing me some hefty blows.

I'm so sorry hun.
It's 12 years since my Dad died, so I know a little of how you are feeling. Just being out shopping and seeing Dad cards in the shops for Christmas sets me off.
And your poor cat (I am officially a crazy cat lady gone from 1 cat to 14 in a year!). It's been a few years since I lost one, but I still remember the tears and upset. My indoor cat is a mummy's boy and is 12, I dread the day anything happens. He pinned so much for his adoptive mother cat, it's so sad to see them mourning.

pm2326, it's been nearly 10 years since my Mum passed away. Time will eventually help with the raw feeling you have been left with but you will always miss them. 10 years on, I still can't face going to her grave or to have any photos of her around the house, I don't expect that to change at any time as it's been a while now.
So sorry to hear about your cat, I too am a cat lover and have 2 of my own.
So, youngest DD (16) has gone away today with her boyfriend and his Dad for a weeks snowboarding in Italy, all made more difficult as they plan to drive and DD's boyfriend and Dad are Asian, DD is lily white so we are all hoping they don't assume she is being trafficked across the world. I am so innocent as I never considered this to be a problem but DD's boyfriends Dad isn't convinced they won't get stopped.
I hope they make it there as DD is soooooooo excited to be snowboarding, I had to let her go as DH said it was selfish of me to deny her the opportunity to go (we would never have been able to afford for all of us to go) just because it was Christmas. I am missing her already!
So, with youngest DD off on her hols, eldest DD studying and DH working until 9pm tonight I ham hoping to make some time for me and get some of my KK cross stitch done, might have to go and get my onesie on first though0 -
Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for your lovely comments, it means so much to me.
It was my works night out last night but I just couldn't face it so just went for the meal and left as I'd already paid for it and didn't want to appear rude, it was also my last day at work until new year. Was in my pj's by 9.30 and asleep by 10.30
I've been out today and managed to get the food shopping and bought the last xmas present. I've wrapped everything and delivered the neighbours cards so that's me done.
I've just spent the last hour finishing off the first page of elvis but wont be doing anymore tonight. I feel another early night coming on.
Hope you are all well x0 -

I always think sleep is our natural defence when we reach the "can't cope" point. In the first year after Dad died, I'd be fine during the day at work but the moment I got home and went upstairs to change out of my office clothes I'd have to lie down for a doze before I could face the evening, although I lived alone and did find it particularly difficult to do so at that time.0 -
Quick post to say that I got my Nativity scene framed - £3.50 for a frame at The Range, and it's really good quality for the price.
Another couple of decorations I finished. I also used more of these frames for stitched teachers gifts.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219.
