Looks lovely Coxy - well done on finding the frame :Tsweetcarer wrote: »Wow 20 years - I will be nearly retired hopefully. Then I will have long days of stitching, oh I hope my eyesight holds and my hands. Wonder if we all will still be here chatting in the cafe

Never mind nearly retired sweetcarer - I'll be well and truly retired. What a lovely thought to think we could still all be in the Cafe stitching and chatting away.
Have a lovely day whatever youre up to.

The weather is wet/cold/windy here today so I don't think I'll be venturing out again (I've been up the shop to get the sunday paper) I might have to pop to the garage to sort out drying the washing but that will be it. I had contemplated going into town xmas shopping but don't think I can be bothered!
I might do some stitching later. Don't really feel in the mood at the moment? not sure why.
Hope everyone is well and staying warm and dry.0 -
Hello Girls
Got a couple of lamb cassoroles cooking in the oven - one will get an addition of some dumplings for tonights dinner the other one will go in the freezer for later date. Also I have got some bolognaise slowly cooking away on the stove top for the freezer - make sup to 8 meals with the mix I do.
As promised I said I would show you an update in the learning sampler - still doing my diamond eyelets, still on part 4.blue_eyed_girl wrote: »Never mind nearly retired sweetcarer - I'll be well and truly retired. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all meet up before that - have a wee stitch and b*tch session
I have been thinking of next year - what next - got a few ideas - the herb alphabet I lost in a fire - thinking I originally done it in 1995 according to my scribbles in the magazine. Maybe I will do America land that we love for hubby - he is 40 in 2015. Or there is the twisted sampler. Will still be working away on the learning sampler.
Well better add the dumplings to cassorle - looking forward to my dinner - looks so yum - so hopefully it tastes the same.
Kind wishes to all

Well I have two WIP's but I also have loads of magazine free kits so my stitching is going to be those because they are easy pick up and down which will suit me down to the ground during the Christmas break.
sweetcarer the sampler is coming along beautifully.
Coxy sleeping santa is gorgeous and the frame sets it of really well.
Caroline and Coxy your exchange piece is really pretty.
tricksie I meant to say earlier your Christmas Kitties are so cute.
Anyway will get off the internet now and get some stitching done as I want to make a start on my stash kits.0 -

I have just been wondering ..... what is everyone planning to stitch over xmas? any stitchy goodies on those xmas wishlists?
My list of things I want to stitch/sew is far too ambitious considering how many days I actually have off work (not enough), the 3 Xmas dinners I will be cooking and the dreaded self assessment tax return to complete
My main xs project will be Stitcher's 12 days of Christmas.
I've bought a kit and a chart as gifts for me from other people (Dictionary of Technology and the Diagonal Band Sampler) so am not expecting (or needing) any other stitchy bits0 -

Thank goodness it finally arrived so that we now have 100% success :T
If anyone hasn't already done so it is well worth looking at the Flickr group to see the amazing variety of designs we stitched between us Thank you everyone who took part and a particularly big thank you to Ailsb for my lovely card and coaster, both of which will be displayed every year (as it the card from MrsMP which I received last year and is now framed)0 -

I will also be well and truly retired in spite of the pension goalposts being moved all the time. Am reserving my seat in the Cafe now though perhaps we will be communicating telepathically by then:D0 -

Learning sampler is lovely. I enjoy stitching eyelets but they do take a while to complete (well they do when I stitch them anyway).
Is the America Land that we Love the Design by Jean Farish? I used to have this downloaded as free designs and I can't recall if I printed it out or not - the pc I saved it on is long gone. I like the Victoria Sampler Hearts of America designs - I've stitched a couple of them as gifts in the past and a friend of mine has done all of them in a simply stunning sampler http://www.victoriasampler.com/Catalogue/Hearts_of_America/
Inspired by your posts I have bought the Twisted Band Sampler (it's a present to me from a dear friend) and am really looking forward to starting it. I hope to find time over Christmas to sort out the threads for it - I will be using standard DMC as I don't think it needs anything else0
