I'm only 4 weeks + 2 days, and we've only known since last Thursday! Stitching definitely helps though, because already there have been days where I'm so tired it's all I can do. I have lots of tomatoes that need dicing today, but I don't know if I'll get through all of them or not. Already washed most of the dishes, took a few things out to the recycling bin, wiped off the counter tops and cabinet doors and swept. Feel like taking a nap now!0 -

Then it will come as a surprise if I tell you I really like both the Flowers of the Month bears and the tall houseThe Tiger cubs don't look 'right' to me somehow.

I too am trying not to buy anymore stash until I get the pile I already have a little smaller. I have this kit in my stash that's very similar to the tall house http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/Golden-Gate-Avenue__JAN-023-0142.aspx
I want to do it but keep putting it off so that I have it to look forward to because once it's done I can't look forward to stitching it anymore so I keep putting it off. Does that make sense? :rotfl::heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Mrs T M - congratulations hope all goes well, take it easy.
Firefly - the stocking is stunning, there's so much work involved I wouldn't want to give it away.
Shelly - I looked at the tiger and thought somethjng didn't look right so I'm glad I'm not the only one to think that. I also likethe house but don't want to add to my stash at the moment as I know I won't get round to it in the foreseeable future. I really like your houses that you have waiting to do. I understand what you mean about once you've started it you haven't got it to look forward to - I have a couple like thag in my stash.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

Many congratulations. Summer babies are great - it's easier getting up when the nights are shorter plus as they get older they appreciate having Christmas and birthday presents well spaced0 -

It must be really hard not to get distracted by other things when stitching is your job. Does it become a chore in itself when it's your job or do uou still enjoy it as much? When did you turn you're hobby into a job? Sorry to be nosey.
There are plenty of times I let other things distract me. I'm hoping that the stitching doesn't become a chore. I really want to keep enjoying what I'm doing.
As to when I made this a job, I have done this off and on for a long time now. I had a mail order custom cross stitch business back in the '90s while I had a regular day job. But then I had kids and something had to go, so I stopped the cross stitch. I home schooled my kids from kindergarten all the way through grade 12. They are now both away in college (second year for one, first for the other) and now I can focus on the cross stitch more. I overlapped a bit with the home school and cross stitch for the last few years. I also help my husband with his business (making ignition systems for antique motorcycles) I guess I started up again about 2010. Most of my patterns, I've never stitched. The 3D pieces, I have to stitch just to show what it will look like:D0 -

The deer is Christmas themed. At least the one I'm stitching. I'm trying to get it done, so that I can put the pattern in my shop with enough time for buyers to be able to stitch it for Christmas. I have Santa designed, but haven't started him yet.0
