The stocking is lovely. I can see why you are enjoying stitching it. Who designed it? Can you share details of the kit/chart?

I half watched Argo / half stitched last night. At the moment I'm stitching some xmas gift tags - the designs are from a free Lucie Heaton chart booklet that came with cross stitch crazy. I'm stitching all four on one piece of aida but since I've left myself short at the bottom of the aida, I shall probably make them into gift tags rather than have all four mounted in a card design.

I've got another food shop coming today as we got home too late Friday eve for me to change yesterday's order. Unlike yesterday , I'm dressed now so won't be greeting the delivery driver in my dressing gown having just come out the shower :rotfl: To be fair they turned up early which wasn't ideal but at least meant I could cook the bacon sandwiches (once I'd got dressed!)

So not much planned for today. housework beckons as always but I hope to do some stitching and not much else really. I have two strictly come dancing episodes to catch up on now!

Hi Flat Eric, the Gardener's Delight stocking that I am doing for my Dad is designed by Donna Kooler (not a name I am familiar with) and originally came from a Cross Stitch Christmas 2002 magazine. I bought the chart from Fleabay for 99p. I am more than happy to post the original on if anyone would like it, I always photocopy the charts for my use so that I can 'scribble' on them and mark where I have been :o

  • Can't believe I have four pages of posts to catch up on for the last couple of days. You have been a chatty lot :D

Mags_cat - definitely time for celebration on reaching this milestone - cakes all round in the Cafe? :D

shelly - love the expression on Santa's face. Rose Garden looks lovely and fresh. Looking forward to your updates.

winnie - so pleased to hear that you had a successful day. :T

Coxy - flowershop coming along really well.

Mrs Ceejay - sorry to hear that you have had trouble with your fabric. I had a similar problem and was convinced it was something that I had done wrong. I bought the fabric from one of the more popular companies that gets mentioned here and was supposed to be Zweigart. As you say, there isn't a great deal left for hemming (as you have probably seen from my update pics). Hope you get some satisfaction from them. Good luck.

tricksie - hope you are feeling better and managed to make it to the christening. Looking forward to seeing a pic of the sampler.

sunshinedays - welcome to the Cafe :hello: Don't forget - we just love to see update pics (dead nosey that's the top and bottom of it) ;) :rotfl:

Hippipal - lovely to see you back in the Cafe. Pleased to hear you had a great time.

Louise - great purchases. Love the heart frames. Course it would have been rude to have ignored the offer.

fos - the designs on the stockings are really unusual and lovely. Love the flamenco dancer and reading lady.

mos - great progress on Dad's stocking. Certainly looks as though there is a lot of changes. Will def be worth it all in the end.

pm2326 - lovely to see you back in the Cafe and so sorry to hear that you have had a bit of a rough time. I've fallen in love with your panda - he looks so cute.

sweetcarer - thanks for all the info on learning sampler. Love the colours on spring sampler. Nice bit of progress on the learning sampler too despite having to unpick. Lamp is a brilliant find.

Sorted threads and fabric out this afternoon for one of the Nordic Santa and then I came across a Snowman card that wasn't quite finished so will crack on with that next.

Here is a pic of the birthday card I have got for friend to accompany the Wine cushion. As it is a blank card, I have typed a little verse up for the inside to try and personalise it a little bit too.

  • Hi,
Just finished watching downton, abit predictable I thought, stitching away on the little Arabian woman,it's growing quite quickly.
    B.e.g.
I thought it was just me,trying to fit it all on,as you say not a lot of leeway I had thought not to use a backing piece but I think I will have to just to get to hang up.
The birthday card is great,it matches your lovely cushion brilliantly!
    Louise
The heart frames are so cute, defiantly a bargain.
    Flowerofscotland
    The dancer is beautiful,love it.
Trying to get a lot of sewing done this week, won't get much done after as my daughter is coming home for two weeks from Australia,it's been a while since she was home,so excited.
    Happy stitching x
  • B_E_G I love the card, they will be thrilled I'm sure.

I ave to take my DD to a hospital appointment this morning so won't get much stitching done this morning. Hoping to get some done this afternoon though :D

  • Afternoon everyone

mos - hope you didn't have to wait too long for your appointment at the hospital. Hope all went well for dd.

mrs mp - love your name stitches. Are these going to be xmas pressies?

Ran out of a dmc green last night for my snowmans hat so just bought one locally (90p) - too impatient to wait to get some online for less :o.

Has anyone come across brown cards (like brown paper)? Was thinking for using these (if I can get any) for the Nordic Santas.

New WOCS has arrived this morning but I am NOT opening it until I have done some more chores and we need to take some stuff down to the tip. Looking forward to seeing the reviews for this mag over on FE's new thread - I might even give my pennys worth :D.

    Catch you all later
