  • Hi,
    H
After all our chat about wether or not to grid charts,I have spent the best part of today trying to grid my 12 days of christmas(Margaret sherry).
Started at top, three squares down, ran out of space, took it out.
Started at bottom, worked my way up,still ran out of space by this I was getting fed up.
Decided to check the fabric, turns out to be shorter at one side than the other side by about 1/2 inch,
Have jiggled it round and got it gridded but there is no leeway on the hem.it was ordered from a well known retailer as well.
    Not a happy bunny!!!!

Question. How soon after a birth does everyone give birth samplers? My relatives baby has come early, I thought I had another 2 weeks.

I would have no shame and giving a card and saying 'the gift isn't quite ready yet - serves you right for being early but it will be with you soon' :p:rotfl:

That''s a great idea:D. My mum is going to visit next week on the train so I will send the card up. Hopefully by then they will have settled on a name as well:rotfl:.

BEG - your wine cushion is beautiful. I would love to make some cross stitch cushions but we have two dogs that shed hair like crazy and it would drive me nuts to see my hard work covered in dog hair and we just can't seem to keep the little dog off the sofa even tho we have dog beds the size of giant pillows!

Oh no. How annoying. Is it short of the length you paid for?

I think Louise's suggestion is the way to go re the birth sampler. And what does 2 weeks matter for something which should be cherished for a lifetime?

Nmm. BD looking good but I can't decide what the new part is going to be. Is it the tail or paws or what? You will just have to stitch more so I can figure it out :D

Shelly. Love the before and after bs photos. Looks so different when finished
Love your next project. Who is the designer? It looks similar to a DMC kit I stitched a few years ago

Winnie. Good news about the stall. A great start

mags. Gulp! No wonder you keep it rolled up!

sweetcarer. Thanks for posting links. Love the design and am tempted but really should stick to my 26 stitches instead of starting something else

Enjoy Saturday everyone whatever you are doing

    Hi, flowerofscotland
It's the right size on one side but not on other,it looks to me as it bin cut on slant rather straight.
I've had to cut down on the margins you have to leave between each little figure,so I hope it will look right when done.
    Just so annooooying!!!!

You shouldn't have to do this with a piece of fabric in a kit - changing the design!

I would complain, I think - and ask for a proper piece of fabric, cut correctly, to the right size. It's what you paid for, after all.

I agree with Mags cat. Also it is important to give the company feedback on problems with their kits. Whenever I have to complain about there not being enough of a particular kind of thread I have always had very positive results and good service from the company.

GS 1 was born in April but will get his sampler as a Christening present tomorrow. It's in the sink atm so just got to iron and frame it! Been feeling rubbish since Wednesday with a post op infection so hoping Will be well enough to go.
