As you can tell from the time, I got far too carried away with the peace and quiet once everyone had gone to bed and decided to do some stitching
This is the Christmas stocking I am currently doing for my Dad, it is quite fiddly and lots of colour changes with only one or two squares needing a particular colour but have to say I am really enjoying it. I don't think I will get much stitching done on Sunday as we have been invited out for dinner but hope to get an hour or so done if possible. Am I the only one stitching Christmas bits, please make me feel better and post some Christmas items you are doing

Lovely stocking I was stitching a Christmas stocking until 2 this morning so you're definitely not on you own
I stitch Christmas stuff all year. The stocking I have just finished in my last post. This is the next one I was working on last night http://http://www.shepherdsbush.net/shop/Shepherds-Bush-Designs/Shepherds-Bush-Leaflets/Stocking-Leaflets/p/Charlands-Stocking-x786559.htm
And this is the piece I started on 10 11 12 and will finish on 11 12 13 - also a Christmas theme. Then there's Shelly's Santa and Snowman, beg's 12 Christmas cats which is Aldo being stitched by mrs ceejay etc. so you are far from alone

Good shopping day today :j
We have 'The Range' which has just opened near us and as an opening offer it's spend £50, get £10 off....be rude not to
Here's my craft haul - came to just under £40. I was most impressed with the large pearlescent card sheets - £1.25 each :money: The white and blue things are for the wooden advent calendar I'm decorating. The frames will be used for Christmas gift stitching.0 -
Hi ladies.
Thanks again for all the lovely comments about Santa and Snowman and my next project.
Nmm. Thanks for BD info and good luck with all that snow!
Coxy. Flower shop is coming along nicely, I really like it.
Mrsceejay. How annoying to find something wrong just as you want to get started! I hope you get a decent response from the company.
FOS. The designer of my next project is Helene Tran and the kit was made by DMC.
Nice finishes you posted, I especially like the stocking.
Sunshinedays. Hi and welcome. You have come to the right place
MOS. Nice progress pic, very bright and colourful.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

:j. Someone else who is stitching Christmas 'stuff'. Unfortunately, I can't open the shepherds bush link though. Love the stocking in your previous update, are the stockings both going to be different designs?
Hoping to get a couple of hours in today before I go out, I fear I am becoming obsessed with stitching! :eek:0 -

The stocking is lovely. I can see why you are enjoying stitching it. Who designed it? Can you share details of the kit/chart?
I half watched Argo / half stitched last night. At the moment I'm stitching some xmas gift tags - the designs are from a free Lucie Heaton chart booklet that came with cross stitch crazy. I'm stitching all four on one piece of aida but since I've left myself short at the bottom of the aida, I shall probably make them into gift tags rather than have all four mounted in a card design.
I've got another food shop coming today as we got home too late Friday eve for me to change yesterday's order. Unlike yesterday , I'm dressed now so won't be greeting the delivery driver in my dressing gown having just come out the shower :rotfl: To be fair they turned up early which wasn't ideal but at least meant I could cook the bacon sandwiches (once I'd got dressed!)
So not much planned for today. housework beckons as always but I hope to do some stitching and not much else really. I have two strictly come dancing episodes to catch up on now!0 -

I started cross stitching in April after being given a kit for a gift and have become addicted!
Welcome :j
I started cross stitch roughly the same time as you after picking up a mag and doing the free kit that came with it and i've been addicted ever since! This is a lovely group, i'm sure you will fit in great. Look forward to seeing your work0 -
Hey everyone
Can I come visit again....pretty please? I promise to bring pictures!
I used to come and chat with you on one of the old threads, but life got in the way and I lost you! I've had a really tough year as I lost my dad just after new year and then my stitching mojo up and left me but now it's back and need you lot to keep me on track....:D
While I'm still not up to my previous level of stitching ie every spare minute, here's what I'm doing:

Hello Girls,
Hope you are all well. Busy day here. Done washing, then off to do a big pot of bolognaise for the freezer and might make some banana bread as we have quite a few bananas going black and don't want to waste them. Spent a small fortune at the shops last night but got things for "stock". Tissues 8 boxes for a fiver, big bottle of fabric softner for £3, not every day stuff. So don't have much for rest of month but will save in the long run.I'm thinking of treating myself to some new scissors. Does anyone have any recommendations. I need a pair that I can commute with (so a pair that won't scare anyone or get me arrested :rotfl:) and I'd like a pair for my home stitching
Some of you may remember I work in a secure place that I am not allowed any kind of sharps in the place - so when I was able to do my stiching in my lunch (had an hour then, now only have ½ hour) I took in these - they are sitting at £2 with free shipping just now - they cut thread great and if I lost it not much lost - like my good stork scissors I lost in my house fire but hubby, bless, bought me a new pair as I deserved it

Ok update time - I hope I manage some today but with everything else, probably not till tonight.
First the spring sampler
now the learning sampler - had to unpick all I did yesterday (the next part of the border) - made one wee error at start and it put it all out - massive frog attack.
One of the girls in another cross stitch page I go to in FB got one of these, I bought one yesterday, they are only a pound in poundland (doh). It has such a bright light - she is using it with black material but I thought it was good for extra light, when I am not using the magnifier. It just clips on to your hoop and hardly weighs anything.
I see someone is selling one on Eb$y for £6.49!!!!
Well better check on in FB, keep well - catch you all later
sweetcarer:j cross stitch forever, housework whenever :j0 -
