Pooky well done on the logo
McCulloch I was surprised at the few trees I saw down today as well, like you I guessed that the most fragile had already been brought down a few weeks ago.
nutty - good luck with finding a chiropractor, hope your arm is feeling better soon.
kez - yes we have calamine, DS9 won't have it on, he screamed in agony when we tried yesterday, so we moved onto piriton which he hates but am managing to bribe him to take it at the moment. Its cost me a packet of haribo, a packet of cookies and a minecraft xbox game today!!! But its working at least
And in other news we may have found a kitten - one of the breeders is so unhappy with our treatment and has offered us one she planned to keep. So all being well we will be heading to collect on Monday - as its a long journey I am tying in collecting a car bonnet in middlesborough, and collecting something a friend left behind just outside Leeds
Haven't told the kids yet, just in case it falls through0 -
Oh Stilty and Kidcat, wonderful news on both counts! I'm so pleased for you both.
In spite of a little too much playing on MSE I've managed to have a relatively productive day. Spent almost all of it under the duvet so hopefully won't be too wiped out for teaching tomorrow.
Nutty, I hope you can get help for your shoulder and that your mum's tests show only the simplest of issues. You really could do with break, couldn't you? Big hugs.0 -
Stilty aw I would have loved to have seen her face
Kidcat at least your getting it in him!!!!
Brilliant news regarding the kitten!
Middlesbroughs a long way to travel for a bonnet, if you get stuck call me and i'll see if I can helpsometimes the satnav takes you all over. The a19 and a66 are quite easy to use and are useful avoiding traffic lights. Stewarts park is quite for the kids,to stretch they legs and they are two cafes in side. Park free to enter, big car park, has animals and play areas.
Its our local park and the kids love it.
Fuddle and possession were like that, ds1 has an adult meal. So if we go out costs us a fortune. One pub we go to has really good meal deals. All meals are buy one get one free including light bites. As, for, steak, OH and Ds1 love it served with chips. Oh likes,it with manky stinky blue cheese.
The mince and dumplings were completely demolished, everyone was so cold teven ds2 ate the mince ! I'm in shock..
The storms were bad here people roofs have been off. It was just awful. Met my friend yesterday with our group of monkey children. They loved it, had to take ds2 to a&e for an xray. He trapped his fingers on the toilet door. His hand swelled and couldn't move his fingers. Luckily just badly bruised so its all good0 -
Yay to the kitten! and kudos to the breeder for realising that you and yours are the victims hereMust use my stash up!0

Hi guys, need to catch up with the posts again. Hope everyone is safe and well.
We had parents' eve last night with glowing reports. DS9 is apparently a dream to teach and she wished the class was full of Master SQs, every year we get the same. Had to bite my tongue slightly to stop saying "you should see him at home!"
DS7 also had a great report, academically he has surpassed year 3 standards already (he is year 2) and is allowed into year 6 class now to get reading books and writing book reviews like the older years. Teacher did mention his sense of humour and wasn't til we got home that I wondered if that was a polite way of saying he is a bit cheeky. He has asked for harder homework and promised a sheet of all the spellings expected til the end of Year 6. His teacher said he has been nagging her all day for them - I think she has her work cut out with him but still seems very fond of him.
We dipped into our savings pot to buy them both a Kooboo from Smithys, the £30 offer. We wanted to reward them for working so hard and consistently for the last few years and in particular doing the stuff they find hard in terms of anxiety etc. They both get through tons of books which is a full time job keeping them supplied so the e-readers will be worth their weight in gold.
Have spent big chunks of last couple of days trying to get outfits, gift etc for our friends' wedding renewal service and reception. I really wanted a new outfit as had nothing dressy enough that fit. I have admitted defeat and ended up buying an inexpensive pair of black evening Georgieporgie trousers and will wear with a favourite M&S top (charity shop buy). Not quite what I wanted but at least it has saved me a packet. I have accessories to complement the top which I wore to a wedding a few years ago.
Boys have shirt and tie sets from a high street sale and I will just team with their school trousers and shoes (as colours go) and DH will wear his only suit and a work shirt and tie. Pressie hasn't cost already, been inventive proud to say but need to cover a box and make it all look pretty. Not my strongest skill but will have a bash.
gotta go, DH in early and the place is a tip still
