Oh how lovely Stilty! Bless her.
Fuddle my two love steak! We never have it at home, except recently when there was a Tesco glitch and it worked out incredibly cheaply a pack, but they've had it in a pub and MIL cooks it for them. DS is 12 now, so we can't get away with kids' meals anymore. He can eat more than me. Mind you, they love macaroni cheese too. In fact, must put that in next week's meal plan.0 -
After a taste test in Costco last week, DS15 has discovered lamb steaks! I have never been able to persuade him to even consider it before - yet Costco lady says come on give it a go and he loves it!!
DD7 has been sent home from school, which I pretty much expected , but at least she got to take part in her assembly. That means I am only have DD19 to deliver and collect each day for over 10 days!!
Going to get DD7 seen at GP tomorrow and check whether its a full blown yucky cold or scarlet fever, she is coughing and spluttering so I am hopeful its just a nasty cold.
I have an assembly line process going for meds, DS9 has his antibiotics, calpol, ibuprofen and piriton (which he is thankfully taking) and DD7 has the calpol and ibuprofen, trying to space the different meds apart but I am going through huge numbers of medicine spoons.0 -
Steak for special occasions in this house but it waits till a Saturday night to make it all the more special. We have it with chips and peppercorn sauce. Am I ashamed to admit it? Am I 'eck! We don't eat out, drink, smoke or splurge. Steak as a treat is allowed don'tcha think0

Stiltwalker I would love to have been a fly on the wall to see her little face.0

Hi everyone, finally home after a busy day. Had to be in work for 630am and finished at 12 then rushed home to pick my mum up for her appointment. All done and just waiting for the radioactive heart scan results. Fingers crossed its something simple and can be mended.
while at the hospital I called into a&e, and saw a lovely nurse and doctor. e checked my shoulder and said I should see cyropractor and get my shoulder manipulated into the right position. They did move it at the hospital, and it is slightly better, but they recommended rest. Fat chance really, maybe an hour later on.
Scarlet fever, I don't think I would know what it is. Don't think my girls have had it.
Well tea to sort out, YS m&s lasagne that was 1.75 and garlic slices for tea.
Take care all xBSC member 137

Guess where having mince and dumplings for tea, ds1 asked for it earlier!
Nutty so glad to hear your mum's tests are being out quickly. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Kidcat ouch nasty, calomine lotion might help as well. DS2 had impetigo from school and gp recommended it. Really stopped the itching.
I'll pass your well wishes to gailey
DS1 is off school today and tomorrow, hello teacher training days can't wait tomorrow they all break up :j:j:j:j
Back on a bit x0 -
Evening all
Picked up a fab YS garlic and lime chicken for £2.20 so we had that roasted for tea with veggies and some of our AF cous cous mountain, was delish! Lots of meat left for tomorrow and the bones are in the SC to make a nice stock. I do love a good YS bargain.
I've spent the afternoon creating a logo for my business, one of those things that took far too much time but I'm pleased to get it done (it's been hanging over me for weeks). I've also typed up some instructions for a couple of kits I hope to sell. That's enough computer stuff for a while, back to the fabric and wool. I have a commission piece to design and start on this weekend and several crochet blankets on the go.
Both DDs have now broken up for half term so no alarm tomorrow morning! Yay!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
I was convinced I'd posted here last night, then remembered it was the toiletries thread that I was having a ramble on.
What a touching moment, Stilty...
Such wild weather and so hard to sleep last night, we face a park and I am used to silence at night (apart from my tinnitus).
The trees in the park were bending like bamboo, expected to see loads of debris this morning but surprisingly little. It could be that the previous heavy gales have taken out all that was most likely to fall.
DS took me shopping, normally I do it on my trike but he was happy to help. We did spend around a tenner more than I would have done otherwise but that wasn't too bad at all.
I'm still enjoying a bouquet of flowers that arrived well over 2 weeks ago as a competition prize, dahlias and carnations seem to last for weeks and weeks, really happy about this.
Life fairly quiet, I'm currently modelling an activity monitor from UK Biobank which is a long term research programme. As my job is very sedentary I wonder if they are going to put my down as one of the least active participants ever?
I keep giving my arm a quick shake to register some motion, lol.
Dire weather forecast for tomorrow. I don't have to go anywhere and I won't be. The joys of working from home. A couple of years ago I would have had to have been out of the house at 6.55 to trek up the Durham Dales for community teaching and praying that I wouldn't get snowed in up there.
If it hadn't been for amazingly skilful bus drivers it would have happened a few times. Count your blessings, name them one by one...Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Stilty thats lovely news especially as your littly had such a bad night.
Kidcat does that mean that you might get to re-charge your batteries a little? I do hope so.
We are going to babysit at Dd's tomorrow night while they go out for a meal - very rare for them to do that but a friend has opened a new restaurant and saved them a table. We wont be doing anything, gone are the days of arms full of roses and meals out but we might push the boat out for our 35th anniversary in April.Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0
