New born baby cuddles are the best. Thrilled you were able to cuddle your new family member. Just think Lyn - those feelings you feel now can only grow each moment you see Ezra, touch him, see him progress and interact and make you laugh with his little ways. Oh, youre in for a life affirming time alright ;):)

DH has been saving tokens from the local paper for heavily discounted tickets for Sealife Centre yearly passes for us. So as of next week well always have somewhere to go whatever our finances.

We visited Lulworth Cove today (a little way from where my knee gave way and I fell down the rock pass in the summer, when we were tourists) It was lovely but we stayed away from the cliff bottoms as its susceptible from erosion and I think these last few weeks have upped the risk. Still all was well. It was bizarre to see the blue sea a grey/white colour because of the chalk being churned up with the stormy weather.

DH has been pruning the tree, hedge and dug up a very leggy monstrosity of a bush encroaching the front window. Ive dug and weeded so we have a nice place to plant now. Im putting my strawberries there too as its where the sun is most of the day.

We had SC pork and DH made the best yorkshires Ive ever had. Hes such a good cook but he takes his time and does everything well and precisely - we all end up starving by the time he serves. I shouldnt moan as hes about to set to on my ironing pile as I go clean the bathroom to try get a head start on the weeks chores. Ive a slower/calmer week ahead but still got my time accounted for.

We called off at hobbycr*ft to pick up some acrylic wool. Just plain for a start of a blanket. I did want real wool but Its too expensive so the fake stuff it will have to be. My blanket is massive in length but consists of 2 teeny rows. Be ready for next winter :D

Lyn - that's great news, glad little Ezra is doing well.

Had a great day with a families group at with Shabang! today - they are a small arts group who do music, theatre, arts etc with children with additional needs. So been singing, Makatoning, doing crafts and multi-sensory stuff with an Egyptian archaeology theme. DD is going to be a star on their website when it gets a revamp as we made her a button on her talker saying 'Shebang is cool' and she used it amongst others to tell them on camera what a fab day she'd had - so cute!

Think we are all tired now - except DS who slept all the way there and all the way home in the car. All prepared for a very grumpy DD tomorrow as the assessment talker goes on to the next child and we have 2 weeks to wait til we can get the hire one as it is still out on loan - still it could be worse, we could have not been able to get the hire at all, got to Pollyanna about these things!

Hope you all ok - hugs X
  • Lyn, I'll keep it in mind. My younger brother has two cats named Marmalade and Clementine so perhaps that is one way to keep with the family theme! Lemon curd just doesn't have quite the same ring to it! I've never met his cats, but there has been heavy exchange of photos. So pleased to hear the Ezra has put on weight, what a champ already!:T

Kez, thanks for the lovely suggestion! We have a new Mr Ms near us so I'll check them out.

Time for a slice of blueberry cake made with some of the lovely supersix blueberries and then off to bed.

Evening toughies, hester you will have such an incredible time in the delivery room :)

We are all prepared for the week as much as I can be, DD19 is on placement so in school all day, and we have to be out 20minutes early every day and will be out an extra 45 minutes minimum every afternoon.

We did lunch with my parents, after OH eventually called them, they had chosen a restaurant the boys struggle with (and they know this - last time we went my father said he would never step foot in there again!) so we went prepared to leave at first sign of trouble. Thankfully I managed to keep the boys well diverted, until pudding when DS15 flipped, so we calmly packed our stuff and left. Having prepared not to stay meant it was all very calm and relaxed exit rather than a panicked rush.

We have also this weekend finally sorted out the plan to get DS15 his "sensory" cat. He is very attached to a local cat who visits (often stays for days) but I am aware she isnt ours and is likely to go home one day and not come back. He has settled on breed, colours etc and I have three good reputable breeders all who are recommended and have vet references, to call tomorrow to arrange to take him to visit.

My parents swung it with OH for him, when he mentioned today that he wanted a new cat, they were very put out and gave him a lecture on why it wasnt a good idea, OH stepped in and gave them all the reasons why it was needed and why we had decided to go ahead.
I think again it was the loss of control of our lives. OH announced in car on way home that I was to get it booked this week, as he had had enough of their trying to control us and run our lives.

The complaints that DS15 had gotten worse with my molly coddling him were I think the final straw, as everyone else can only see how much better he is and how much calmer he is.

Can I ask how everyones school easter holidays are working? Had a shock today when I discovered DD7 is off for the two weeks up and including Easter, whilst Ds9 is off earlier and then back at school, then off for the Easter weekend? Its a nightmare to have such different dates.

So glad you were able to get out of there kidcat, how dare your parents react like that. You are a fantastic wonderful person and don't you forget it!
for them its all about control, they don't like like it because you all having a far better lives without they negativity being around you all.

Ds1 has come along so much and the fact that he's going to college is fantastic and hes able to do that because you have built his confidence so much. He knows that no matter what you will be there and he has very strong foundations supportive family.

Sorry if I have overstepped the mark I just don't want you to feel bad. You are a wonderful loving person.

Stilty aw I love hearing all about missy, what a fab day out!

Sq what a lovely idea for your OH, he will love the pressies from you and the boys. What,a wonderful idea :)

Ches and hester my mum (nana) was with me and,OH when I have birth to ds1. I feel so privileged that she was there and,i know she was there in spirit wuth ds2. I personally felt safer and calmer when she burst through the ward door beaming saying have I missed the baby?
My bio mum wasn't there, but to be honest I probably wouldn't have been so calm if she had. My mum wasn't invited to the birth, but right before I went in we were talking. So myself and OH weren't annoyed when she arrived, instead she made us both feel calm especially when one midwife said I wasn't in labour. my mum got hold of the midwife started laughing saying if thats not a crown I must have had kittens. I was high off the gas and air and laughed so hard I pushed ds1s head out in one shot! The pain was immense but I will always remember and treasure that memory. you could feel the love in the room and when she first held him she was so proud and said to me thats my girl I'm so proud of you both. He's gorgous and paraded to him everyone in the delivery room. My first meal when I came home was fried egg

With runny yolk and home made chips.

she was so proud, when she was dying of cancer she told me all about ds1 birth and how amazing it was. She also said your pregnant again u can tel by your eyes. Don't worry ill be there with you.

Theres an adorable pic taken with about a weeks before she died on her wedding day with great grand children and younger grand children and theres ds1 staring up at her aged 3 yrs and she has him cradled next to her and they both laughing. That was the last time she saw him, she made the decision and said this is how she wanted him to remember her laughing. Less than a week later she died. It hit us all hard but I know I can have such wonderful memories of a wonderful nana noo noo.

    Sorry my phone played up.

Kidcat - your parents sound like my BIL - no idea of what is suitable, appropriate or appreciated! Glad you managed a calm and dignified exit - hugs X

Kez - thanks lovey, I like to be a proud mummy and share - both my kids work so hard for every tiny little thing, so happy you want to know about it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyvMbH8iqVs - This is what DD had to say - Shabang posted it! She's a superstar! I programmed button to say 'Shabang is cool' because she'd been pressing the button for 'that's cool' and she has another button which says 'I love you' all in one go, but she found all these words and phrases from about 3 different pages on her talker in response to the question "have you enjoyed today?" No one could believe that she has only had this talker 3 weeks! - Sorry to sound so full of myself but we are so proud of our clever little lass! - Hx
