I only sat down to the computer about half an hour ago, managed a lie in this morning (sleep would have been good, but I did drowse a bit I guess), followed by lunch and a trip to Sainsbugs (ooh I know how to live!), now having a cuppa and a catch up! Sorry to hear your OH is unwell ginnyknit :(

Just sat down myself. Had baby and 3 year old yesterday afternoon as parents needed to go somewhere without kids and today 3 year old and 3 older ones. We called in after shopping and they wanted to come for a while so they spent the afternoon. Fed them and Dh just taken them home. Little one sat on the sofa with me for a while as she was tired but would not quite drop off and others had their noses stuck to computer screens. Am tired and not done much else though. I had wanted to finish some crochet but will see how I feel later.

Ginny hope dh feels better soon.

Ginny - ((hugs)) hope your OH feels a little better tomorrow.

We have spent a few hours at the zoo until the weather turned nasty and began to pour so we headed home, we managed a couple of hours wandering around which was enough in the cold. Was good to get out in the fresh air and let the kids run off some steam.

Then home for baths, pjs and dinner. All fed and wrapped up now, relaxing with movies etc.
I have even managed to get all the washing done and dried, ironing completed and the house is looking ok too!!

Tomorrow may or may not be the dreaded dinner with my parents, DD19 has decided not to go, she has too much work on, DS15 says he wont go either and I will not force him. OH and I will go with the littlies - assuming that they tell us where we are supposed to be meeting them in good time, as yet they havent bothered. Its a control thing, they withhold the information until last minute that we cant do anything to make changes etc. OH and I have asked last week for details and they promised to let us know, I wont beg for the information. So OH and I have decided that if they dont let us know by 11am we wont go. Havent told the littlies its a possibility yet so it wont cause us a problem not to go.

    Evening all

Blowing a hoolie and chucking it down again, we went to visit my parents today and has a very hairy journey home.....so many lunatics on the roads.

I sneezed twice at Mums and instantly had a full blown cold! How does that happen? So an evening on the sofa with a duvet for me.

Kidkat. - I tink I'd be of the opinion that if you've not been told where to go then it must have been cancelled and make other plans. Glad you managed to get out for a bit of fresh air.

Ginny - hope your DH is feeling better soon.

Shegar - dinner sounds great, what time do you want us? ;)

Right a glass of medicinal wine required and something good to watch.

  • Evening all,

Ginny, I hope your OH is feeling better.

Pooky, can I offer to make you a hot toddy? Hope your cold blows over as quickly as it came on.

Mrs. LW, I can't wait to hear about it after you have met HIM!

Kidcat, that sounds like a sensible plan to me.

Shegar, enjoy your fire and your meal tomorrow!

In good news, we've settled a date and will bring our new kitten home in five weeks. Mum and dad are absolutely gorgeous. Mum stood and watched us the whole time we were looking at her babies, and justifiably so! I'm very excited. I've wanted a pet for so long and its finally the right time to commit to an animal. I'll be doing plenty of research in the meantime. The owner wasn't particularly helpful about what sorts of kitten food we should plan to have in, so we might have to wait on that.

I managed to do a bit of sewing today. Just some basic cushion covers, but could I manage to do it right? Ripped the same seam out four times. I guess it shows how tired I've been lately as I've made cushion covers dozens of times. Still, it was relaxing. Just some buttons to put on it tonight while we watch something on catch up. Then I think I might need to make some little flannelette mice out of scraps. OH was aghast at the idea saying they might get torn up. I'm sure they will, but they'll cost nothing but time and the shop bought ones would get torn up as well, and some of them probably have little tags or bits that could be swallowed. Its only a bit of batting and scraps!

Right, I hope you all have a lovely evening. Hugs to all.x
  • Oh my goodness, I can't begin to describe the feeling of holding him in my arms for the first time, indescribable happiness and so much tenderness it almost hurt. He is georgeous and so calm and so contented he just was happy to be held and looked around and made darling little snuffly noises and baby bird twitters and his skin and hair are so soft, he smells of newness and warm snuggliness and I'm totally in love!!! Happiness is Ezra shaped!!! Lyn xxx.
