  • Hi All,

Lyn, what an adorable little bundle of happiness! Your meals sound like just what is needed as well.

SQ, thank you. I'm still feeling drained, but trying to think of some nice me time things to do this weekend and get myself back on track. My work has slowed down as a result and it isn't easy for me to take a step back and expect less of myself when these things happen.

In happy news, we're going to meet some kittens tomorrow and see if one of them might like to be ours in a few weeks! I'm hoping it will cheer me up and take my mind off work a bit.

For those of you fighting for your children--big hugs and a sly piece of cake coming your way. Its a tough job and you all just sound like wonderful parents.

Mrs LW - that is one seriously cute little bundle.....I can just imagine the newborn smell and the little sniffly noises. What a fab Mum you are too, those meals sound fab. Would you like to adopt me?

The weather has turned really nasty here, the rain is hammering down and the wind is unreal. I found some new draughts with the wind coming in a different direction so have been sealing those today. I've also turned the defunct airing cupboard into a wardrobe for DD2, it means we can get rid of her bulky wardrobe and she can have a desk instead. She was hoping to move into the bigger room when DD1 goes to Uni but as DD1 has only applied locally and intends to stay at home I need to make the box room a little more appealing for DD2 to stay in.

Found some fab retro/vintage fabric yesterday, it's jungle animals, really gorgeous. I popped a pic up on FB and had 4 private messages asking if I could make them curtains/blankets etc from it. There's not much but I shall endeavour to make it stretch.

Off to see my parents tomorrow, will be nice to have a change of scene, much as I love my house the same four walls (and leaden dark skies) are getting a bit much.

  • I'll be honoured to be Mum to any of you that want me to, it's what I love doing best in life, so extended family have a great big squishy welcome hug!!! My girls are my reason for being and now little Ezra is really the sparkles on the icing on the cake, I spoke to DD2 this afternoon just after she got home with him and she still has that dreamy note to her voice and every sentence is punctuated with 'Oh Ma he's so cute' I just LOVE it!!! Bless her she is such a good person she so is allowed to be as happy as she is it's beautiful and she deserves it! Lyn xxx.

Aww Lyn - that brought a real smile to my face, I remember saying the same to my mum not so very long ago and now I've just ordered the party bag bits for DD's 5th birthday party in March!

She's perked up somewhat after a quiet day - it was actually really cool to have her home this afternoon as we had the speech and language therapist round for DS to bring some PECS card and make sure we knew the first steps for PECS. She got really involved and was helping - holding her hand out for the card with great patience and then handing over the dinosaur while I said dinosaur. SALT was very impressed with her - she was DD's SALT until she went to school so knows her well and she was really impressed with her progress and maturity and will be telling her current SALT about it next week - great display of understanding. She was also keen to show her old SALT the talker (communication device) she has been trialling and used it to chat to her which, again, will get passed on so will help with the weight of evidence to support the funding application. Current SALT has no doubt she will get one and is hopeful that it won't be too long a wait, there may even be enough left in this year's budget to get the order in before the new financial year!!! Can't come soon enough - this one has to go to the next child for assessment on Monday although I have managed to hire one for 4 weeks starting in half term, I think the next couple of weeks without is going to be a little trying to say the least.

Both kids fast asleep in bed, DH in the bath and I've got a cheeky Friday night glass of wine poured and you lot to keep me company! Need to think of something exciting but diet friendly to do with chicken that doesn't take a whole load of cooking. DH is doing really well with his diet, he's lost over a stone since before Christmas and his teeshirts are fitting him better again. Will prolly end up doing a stir fry as it is Chinese New Year.

Take care all - hugs all round X

Knit Witch - Got both Hairy Dieters books and do a lot of meals out of them but neither of us are sweet and sour fans - the pineapple doesn't do a thing for us! So I just did a spring onion, garlic and ginger stir fry and totted up the calories in my head - those packs of little veg are more expensive than buying loose but makes reckoning up calories much easier - was very tasty if I do say so myself.

Its very quiet in here today :( everybody must be busy. Its wild and windy here but we are lucky as its not snowing but the sky looks ominous. Dgs is here and has been happily playing whilst I craft now he is fast asleep as he is not well. Typical auty we have to guess whats wrong besides a sniffle and a spotty face. Might well be tired as he was at a party till 9pm last night and enjoyed every minute of it.

OH is poorly too, with him you can pick any number of reasons. He seems to have aged over night so glad we are the hospital on Wednesday.

Despite it all I am feeling good today, de-cluttering going very well and tomorrow I get to move my stuff back into the spare room as Ds has finally moved all his things into the new apartment :j:j Im so looking forward to organising all my stuff and having a tidy living room and bedroom. Just have to order a spare bed now. Dd's friend does bargain ones and its only for the nights Dgs is here. Hope everyone is ok hugs ginny
