My life changed forever at 3.45am on 3/3/2008. In the delivery suite I was the first person to hold my DGS after mum and dad. That moment will stay with me forever and he is as precious now as he was then. Happy days to come Lyn many congratulations. We are both blessed.0

Lyn: You have taken the first step on the most incredible journey. There is nothing, NOTHING to match the feeling of love at first sight, or even before the first sight. I almost envy you as my latest, and probably last, baby grandaughter is now running about, ricocheting off the walls and saying her first discernible words. Enjoy him Lyn, this time will never come again.
Good luck for tomorrow Kidcat. I'll cross my fingers for you. It's all about Power and Control isn't it?
FairyP: You too are about to give your heart away. This little furry bundle of fun is about to transform your life.
Me? I'm off to bed after a perfectly manic week. Finished the church magazine at 3,25am this morning, and was up at 7.00 to start printing, collating and stapling. I must be mad.

Ah Lyn, I'm so pleased for you and jealous at the same time - new babies are the scrummiest things in the world, aren't they? I'd give my eye teeth to have more, even in mid-forties!
Pooky, hope you feel better soon. I never catch anything, but overnight have caught a cold that's gone to my sinuses, but a few glasses of medicinal rose are helping tonight!
Have been speed reading threads today, so can't remember everything, but love and hugs to all, whatever the reason for accepting them.
Hopefully, we'll have a quiet day tomorrow - DS went out with a friend for lunch, both kids are grumpy cos they're tired, DH, DD and I went to the garden centre for a mooch, but spent our time chasing her around! Plan to just do a bit of ironing, get tea on early and take DS to swimming lesson, and that's it! I want to go through my craft and cooking books and mags and plan presents and meals for us and other people.

Ginny hope your OH and DGS feel better soon... you too ((((Cheapskate and Pooky)))). My DH is feeling rotten too with a stinking cold and has slept a chunk of the day away.
Babies and kittens (or other fur babies)..... nothing better! We practised first with kittens before moving on to human babies and they are all got bigger and love them even more now. Lyn you sound perfectly, dreamily, head over heels in love with your beautiful grandson. Loved hearing from all the other grandmas.
Monna - for goodness sake please take a breather as soon as it's practical....you'll be no good for anything without enough sleep. (wags finger)
Had a pretty good day. Fought the tiredness with the result me 1- depression 0. Feel bad when we have boring weekends because of how I feel.
Morning was for chores, afternoon I took boys into town to see some Chinese New Year Celebrations, one of our favourite things. Fantastic lion dances. DS7 was spellbound. There was a stall selling crafts but as bit pricey so I just bought a fortune cookie for them each.
Also went into a pound shop to get some birthday treats for DH - little bags of nice coffee and chocs, biscuits, Italian crackers and some smellies. Boys' idea to get little treats and we will make up a decorated box to put them in. All for less than a tenner. I will get something from me too next week even though he said not to bother as he doesn't need anything. With the family situation the only pressies (and possibly cards) he will get will be from us and a friend so I want him to feel "spoilt" still. Still have a week to prepare. Boys will make cards after school and I will make a cake next weekend.
We continued the Chinese theme with a takeaway for dinner. No often we have a takeaway and the boys were excited and cleared their plates. DS9 has such an appetite, he eats as much as me sometimes and he asked for a sandwich and a glass of milk later in the evening as well. Hollow arms as well as legs... no wonder we can't afford many takeaways!!
House is not at its best but we have sun forecast tomorrow (remember that bright warm thing in the sky?) and we all felt so much better being out (other than a poorly DH) today so will aim to do something in the fresh air tomorrow. Maybe a country park. Then boys can do homework at the kitchen table whilst I cook a roast chicken dinner (with sprouts mmmmm) and baths and snuggly eves all round.
better hit the sack... sleep well anyone still up

Burtha - many years ago when I was in my late teens I was a professional juggler/stiltwalker/face painter etc and did many kids parties (hence the username!) Too old and grumpy these days to cope with that many kids in a confined space on a regular basis! and I am definitely not reprieving 'Mel the Magnificent, the Stiltwalking Queen' for my kids parties I shall be dishing out sarnies and things on sticks from the kitchen like all the other mummies! Kudos to you, it's a harder job than it looks. - Hx0
