Glad you have heating again nutty, all warm and cosy when you get home.
Kidcat - good to hear about the college place and DLA. tell me to mind me own business but.... (here she goes again) if next week is really manic could you possibly drop the non-essential appts like swimming just for once? or will DS9 be thrown with a different routine?
As for the weekend, that's tricky. If you and the children really need a quiet weekend then you must have one. Invites should not be demands but requests. Can you comprise and pop by for a quick cuppa (maybe with just DD7) and say the others are very run down and likely coming down with an unspecified "something" and will see their grandparents another time soonish.
Sounds like you need a big hug (1st typed as bug hug) ((((((FairyP))))) Sorry to hear all your sad news and hope you manage to carve out some time to recharge your batteries.
Pooky, hope you have a better day today, yesterday sounded a bit tough.
Hope you're also having a calmer day Kez, take it easy.
Awwwww beautiful photo Mrs LW, thanks for sharing and brightening our day.
Counselling session went well, I like the therapist but only getting 8 weeks so already feel under pressure to "get sorted out" by the end of 2 months which is daft I know. Counsellor agrees with GP so I am officialy depressed (no similie for that one ha ha) and DH agrees which I am a bit surprised at.
Just had some warm soup, a cuppa next and off to battle the supermarket before picking up the kids.

stiltwalker - maybe have a quiet word with the SENCO, use words like reasonable adjustments
disability discrimination, and if all else fails Educational welfare - lets be honest if DD is so tired she has to stay off school then Education welfare wont be pleased, and if they discover the fault lies with school then they will have something to say.
just agreeing with kidcat and sending you a hug stilty....why don't the staff use their commonsense??0 -
Will be having words on Monday.
Common sense would be a fine thing wouldn't it SQ??? She was so tired this morning she fell off her commode - it has arms on for gawdsake! She is coming round a bit but ate her lunch straight off the table (when she's really tired she can't cope with a plate).0 -
Lyn you know what a new mum wants more in the world? Course you do, thats why youre not rushing on over there
A few days without visitors, just DH and I (and eldest with 2nd) would have been great but it doesnt happen that way because everyone wants to come join in the celebrations and get cuddles. I was a Cesarean delivery with 2nd and those first few days are very frustrating and tearful, not to mention the pain but Oma will be there experiencing the calm and love after all the craziness has died down with other visitors
Its testament to you and how you care that youre giving DD her space and ooooooh, shes going to be thrilled with her picnic
while you take a back seat even though I know youre itching to meet your grandson and congratulate your DD and SonIL. Enjoy the weekend Lyn, Ezra is so lovely and so are you!
Hasnt it gone a bit chilly? Deluge is back - folk on the southern coast look after yourselves and property. I was watching how sand bags had been pinched over your way Lyn. I was with a lady yesterday evening putting the world to rights based on the news and she said (I have to agree) that if your property was at risk then you would do whatever you could to protect it but we also agreed that if you were strong enough to lift a sandbag you were strong enough to go to the beach and source your own
How long have we lived here? Today the maintance guy came round to inspect the issues that were brought up in our check in inventory - inefficient extractor fan causing mould in the bathroom, kitchen radiator broken, haphazard storage heater, duct-tape on the heated towel rail (only heat source for the bath room which has now been condemned) a fire alarm unit for the hard wired alarm, cover for the strip light in kitchen and new toilet cistern as it wont flush very well, if at all some days. Weve been told that its up the LL if those repairs are fixed and paid for - aside from the portable oil filled temp rads (so were warm!) we have officially 2 working radiators in the house - 1 in each bedroom. Still, all just niggles that Im sure will be sorted one way or another.
When/if the extractor fan is replaced I will be getting the lakeland mould remover - thank you!
Good news is that the previous tenants left 2 whopping great concrete pillars in the garden (as in dumped, not a feature) Weve been annoyed about them because we cant move them as DH cant get a van or lifting equipment (access to any type of tool he needs) because theres a canopy over the access to the parking areas and gardens. I do waffle. Er, anyway the maintenance guy suggested ebay as they are sought after in second hand yards - thinks we would get a pretty penny for them while bringing brute strength to lift them (we have DH and er, me) If we could raise money to use on the garden while getting rid of the monstrosities then I think that would be a result
So, as you can probably tell by the typing errors that I am on the rickety laptop trying to enjoy an afternoon of no work. Ive got a few calls this evening but then a biiiig looooong weekend off. Biy am I looking forward to itI will be meal planning based on SC, lunch idea planning, shopping list writing, food store sorting and maybe a food inventory too... back to the good old days after a lie in of course!

Oh Lyn, he is absolutely edible. Please relish every second of your visit tomorrow and think of all your Doorstep friends salivating with jealousy.
Kidcat: I agree with SQ. I think it would be wise for your children to go down with a diplomatic virus, which, of course, you would hate for anyone else to catch. Have a PJ day instead - which will also back up your story should anyone feel inspired to check.
Fuddle: Have a wonderful, relaxing weekend. Good news about the Grecian columns(!) Goodness, you may even make a few bob - it's a win/win situation. I really must investigate easybay, I've a load of stuff to get rid of but have never thought of getting money for my goodies.
Back to the magazine. Yes, it's that time again.

Sigh of relief here, DLA came out spoke to Ds15 for a few minutes and then said, we will continue to pay into your (my) bank as usual, sign this form. And left, ten minutes in total and all done.
Big *phew* from here! (I have to go through all these horrors again this year with ESA and then PIP - the docs have said I ain't going to get any better .. only worse but I have lost my lifetime awards)Must use my stash up!0 -

Had,a weird but funny day saw counsellor, supposed to be an hour ended up being 30 minutes. So seeing her next week.
After that went to say hi to a friend ended up sitting for nearly 3 hours chatting. It was funny her tattoo nearly got mucked off when I made the artist laugh. Oops, first time ive met outside of social group and coffee morning. Shes invited us over on wednesday for a cuppa.
Daft, thing is I'm scared and really nervous about seeing people.0
