Congratulation's Mrs LW
Possession, it's lovely to hear of Granparent's opening ISA for the kiddies, but please ask them to check how much they can 'give away' to family before tptb stick there noses in, I know it did use to be about 3 1/2 grand a few years back, and I only mention this seeing as there is the possabilty of the tax man getting involed if they go over the allowed limit.hth
They are doing a monthly amount so hopefully it will be OK - my dad's quite clued up on that stuff.
Lyn that's a classic grandma daze, and you're being very patient! Make sure you get a pic of you holding her for the first time, my mum still has pics framed of both of mine doing that.
Cleaning white goods - not very often in this house, generally when they aren't white any more. Better to buy off white goods, hide's the dirt!0 -
Many congrats Lyn to you and all your family on the safe arrival of your precious grandson. What wonderful wonderful news! You will be a super Oma and have so much fun together, Glad your DD is well.
Bit behind with posts will catch up today or tomorrow. I am waiting for DH to bring home some chips to go with the fishcakes on offer at All-deedums today (thanks for the thumbs up Nutty re vouchers) cooking in the oven. Then a hot bath and read in bed for me. I am feeling very jaded so am being kind to myself with a nice evening. Have my counselling assessment tomorrow and I am trying to stay calm about it. DH is working from home so I can come home to a friendly face which helps.
Ooooh chips are ready.... hope you enjoyed your fish supper Sheila... lovely to have an evening off cooking isn't it?

Echo the plug for Blitz That Mould, it is amazing!! But it will take the colour out of paint on the wall so be warned.
Fridge gets cleaned when it has ominous dark puddles below the veggie drawer (which can happen very quickly, I'm not really a total slattern, honest!)
Cooker I now do every week by putting pan racks and oven shelves in the dishwasher on a hot wash. I need to do a hot wash once a week anyway to stop grease building up so might as well get the benefit. I do it on Monday because the oven will have been used for a roast on Sunday so there will be grease splatters. What I find is the oven shelves still look as if they have dark brown grease marks on when they come out but it literally just wipes off with a gentle rub with a sponge scourerIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
Aww lynnn don't know you do it, I would have been bouncing and packed ready to go!!!

7.5kg potatoes £2

Morning toughies, have been managing to read but not had time to post.
Its been a mad rush all week, OH is back doing long journeys and hours (he left at 5.30 yesterday morning and returned at 9pm) and its a busy week anyway, DS15 had to visit a college Wednesday evening, great news they are happy to take him and accomodate his needs (phew!) but it meant that after picking up DD7 at 4.15 we had to all go to the college, DD19 sat with the littlies while DS15 and I went in, she sat doing homework, spellings reading etc while I negotiated a support deal. Then we got out just in time too race ( well not really traffic was murder) back to our home town for DS9 swim lessons at 7pm. By the time we had done that it was bedtime as soon as we walked in and we were all exhausted.
Last night went in similar vein, with DD7 after school, club, an appointment for DS9 and then off to collect DD19 from Uni.
It feels as though we have had no down time at all after school this week, and both boys are really showing the signs of the stress, DS15 was awful last night and really struggled.
Today is the dreaded DLA visit, so he wont be going into his placement, which will give him a break at least, however I had to explain about his DLA to him and that they are coming to talk to him and that now has him stressed too!
Really not looking forward to the weekend, its my dads birthday and we have been ordered to attend a meal out on Sunday at 1.30pm - however they have yet to tell us the venue. Ds15 and DD19 know and are already refusing to go and to be honest DS9 really just needs to hibernate for the weekend to recover from the week.
Next week is way worse with appointments and DD19 being on placement causing lots more rushing, so I do need to get them all calm and destressed this weekend.0 -
Morning all, at last Friday!! Not working until 3 today so I intend to relax. But so far ive hovered through, cleaned bathroom and kitchen and put load in washing machine and dishwasher. In fact all the housework is done. Now I get to rest for a while. Have taken my mum the newspaper and she is fine. My collegue at work rang to swap a shift with me so I have the complete day off to take mum for her test. They inject some fluid into the blood stream and watch it as it travels to the heart, it shows up on an x ray. Fingers crossed we have answers and then they can resolve what is happening.
in the sun paper today is a £5 voucher off a £4o at lidl, valid until Monday. Paper costs 40p, but may be of help to some.
take care all xBSC member 137

princessX87 GreyQueen on the OS doorstep had some good advice recently on mould removal - can't recall the specifics about the proliferation of spores etc but the gist was to use a proprietry cleaner rather than bleach....
I can't add much to the conversation today other than to share my joy at my new arrival (not as wonderful as yours MrsLurcherwalker obviously) of a slowcooker..... half price in Sainsbobs, and using some nectar points I had acquired the grand sum of coins leaving my purse to pay for it was £4.98.... !!!!! I cooked on an Aga for many years at my old house, and am very glad to be rid of the gas bill that accompanied it, but find myself reluctant to put the oven on these days - though that could also be something to do with the cleaning of it - so I am hoping this new addition will give me a bit more scope with the catering. Finding room on the worktop to keep it though is going to be a different matter......This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
