Oh Lyn, what wonderful news. Nobody can tell you what having a grandchild can be like. Until it happens you can never know how your love for them totally consumes you. Enjoy every moment can spend with this precious little person.
Coming down to earth for a while, Lyn I must thank you for that red cabbage recipe. It went down a storm today, everyone was raving about it. I basked in the praise but it was all down to you really.I believe that friends are quiet angels

He was delivered by ceasarian section at 12.45 pm today weighs 7lb 4oz and has masses of brown hair and dark brown eyes and in the words of his Mum is beautiful and perfect and arrived in this world yelling his little head off!!! We're on cloud 999 and just euphorically happy. DD2 had a few problems at the end of last week and went in to have an induction on Monday so it's been a long few days (longer for her I suspect) and nights but entirely worth it to hear the depth of happiness in her voice when she rang to tell me. We hope to visit on Saturday and meet Ezra for the very first time, what a wonderful day, what a happy Oma, Lyn xxx.
So happy for you xxxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Lyn, how wonderful for you and He Who Knows - many congratulations! :j

Good morning Toughies all, thank you so very much for all your kindness and the overwhealming number of messages, I'm touched to the heart and you are all wonderful people and I'm a very lucky Oma to have so much love showered on me and Ezra and his Mum and Dad. We're off to visit on Saturday as long as she is home nd as long apparently as I take lunch!!! This is the most amazing feeling isn't all you Nannas on here? I had no idea how much one little person could increase the feel good factor in life, this is most decidedly on another plain to anything I've felt before.
MONNAGRAN I'm so pleased that the red cabbage was a success, it's a traditional old german recipe from the Rhineland where we lived and so easy isn't it? well done you for making that amount and feeding the 5,000, Lyn xxx.0 -
Better start saving up for xmas MrsL...!
Possession, after 48 years married to the RV, an anniversary is something you want to forget, believe me!0 -
Good morning Lyn,
As any Nanna will tell you, the love you have for your grandchildren is completely different to the one you have for your children. The love for your grandchildren is overwhelming, and is quite difficult to put into words. You look at these children and think I had something to do with how they came about indirectly.:)
We have been extremely lucky, I know, to have had so much input into our DGC lives. Because both my daughter and son in law work full time (like JackieO) we have done school runs, when they were younger would come to our house every evening for their meal, have taken them on holiday many times, Craft Fairs and even been to parent's day at school. In fact it is like having a second family when you are in your 60s.
Our 3 grandchildren are now almost 21, 17 and 14 and are loving well adjusted adults who give us as much love as we give them.
I know you will Lyn, but enjoy absolutely every moment with Ezra and you will find being an Oma is so fulfilling and so full of love. Your life is going to be different now but in a lovely way.
I hope they are both well this morning, and I am sure you can't wait until the weekend to see them both.
Much love
Candlelight x0
