Monogran the bread pudding sounds lush :)

What an end to a week, I've completely cut the crap out. Heard some nasty things so I thought, nope were not going to the kids social. instead we stayed
in away from the nasty howling wind and rain.

Ds2 is so bouncy and happy,ds1 is less stressed, OH is happier as well, I didn't tell them i had quit the forum group. Instead I just let life run it course and guess what its worked!!!

We have spent, time together but I have managed to get the, house in order. I'm really proud of myself. daft I know, just feels great decluttering.

Our life has become so simplified and less stressful its amazing!

Kezlou, thank you for the lemon curd cake recipe. Cleaning the kitchen out the other day I discovered a forgotten jar and want to bake this weekend (I am fed up still trying to work my way through the Christmas treats), so guess what I will be making today!

Other cooking will be beetroot soup - does anyone have a fail safe recipe for that please? Oh and I'll be making hm granola so there's more choice for breakfast than just reduced shedded wheat bitesize.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend, I continue to lurk and keep up with you all when not dealing with my own dramas.

Feels a bit colder here this morning and I just had a good laugh on the Scottish weather forum. Forecast for tomorrow is 70mph gales with heavy rain (snow for me) but next week is to be colder.
They posted a map with a line drawn across the border. North of it is a polar bear, south of it is a camel, so I expect you lot doon there will stay a wee bit warmer :rotfl::rotfl:

mardatha Does your Dd's council have a anti social behaviour officer? They can be very helpful. After an initial false start ours did get things moving. It took four years in total because it was kids and child protection people kept blocking the police but they got their way in the end.

Jazee guess what were having today, its gorgous served hot or cold. I normally use a full jar as we love lemon, just leave it in the oven a bit longer to settle.

Others have used jam and said its works really well. I made it for my partners birthday instead of cheese cake. He was chuffed to bits.

Anyway missy don't lurk its lovely chatting :)

Sorry I don't a.recipe.for beetroot, I have a russian cook book though, is the beetroot pickled or fresh?

    Hahaha mar!

Kezlou, thanks. I also found a jar of apricot jam that no one seems to like, but I may try that in a cake too, but maybe next week or I won't want to step on the scales.

    The beetroot is fresh.

What a beautiful day out today. I've just had a lovely walk with the dogs. Good to blow the cobwebs away in the bright sunshine, and to laugh away a nightmare I had last night. I dreamt that I was pregnant again. OMG, I think it was a combination of reading a thread on here yesterday about the delights of looking after toddlers and babies and it brought back bad memories, and the fact that LittleyDog was unwell yesterday and had to be swaddled like a baby to calm down (and I thought we might have a bad night, but she was good as gold).

Anyway, enough of my ramblings, I need to hoover through, then start baking.

Hi everyone, wet and cold here today. DD went to clean mums this morning, and I took her to get a paper and then on to the village butchers. they have lots of older clients there and are more than happy to sell everything in individual portions in bags, so for mum she can buy a pork loin, 2 slices of bacon etc.
We were so busy yesterday at work, must have been payday or something. Made the shift go so quickly so was a blessing. I have to cover the managers shift tonight, so fingers crossed it all goes well and there is no drama.
My baby oleg came from compare the meerkat this morning, we have decided to list it on a facebook site. I really don't need one, and if I can get a few £ for it, it makes the house insurance even cheaper iygwim.

Have a lovely day everyone x

I am listening monnagran and taking heed. I know it myself really and concerned. It's not wanting to buy in more food in the shopping. I've ordinarily had the night befores left overs for my lunch but now I need a prepared/grab/take with solution and that is looking like adding to the weekly shopping budget. kez cous cous may well be the way to go :D also pasta salads. Will look into it whenI get 5 mins on Monday afternoon.

Glorious day here but concerned that its not hitting the yard so therefore drying washing looks like it may be a problem. Might well be a different situation in the summer but...

Also we have a wooden container at DH's depot that some kit was delivered in - looks like a raised bed :D I think we will invest in a spade and set to in the coming weeks but I don't think I can grow veg with the shade issue.

Pelting rain here all day until it changed to snow then stopped.
  • Fuddle, one of our raised beds is in shade most of the day, stuff still grows, but a bit slower.
